Coolant temp gauge close to 200F

2005 r53 45k Car runs absolutely fine ( knocking on wood ), but the coolant temp gauge gets past 140 and runs close to 200F. Not sure what the normal temp is for a mini, but manual suggests somewhere in the middle ( 140~). Checked coolant level, its at max. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

I believe that is normal, mine runs all day long between 198 and 204. 140 would be very cool for a car to run.
