Cheap JCW Sound Kit?

I'm guessing demand for the JCW Sound Kit has gone down; anyone know who has the best price these days? I live in Minneapolis and Motorwerks (our local dealer) is full of chumps looking to charge full retail. Right...

I paid about $620 plus install ($300) recently at Ralph Schomp MINI.

If you're on the fence, my review might help. Search my posts, but in short it's excellent. Every time you start up your MINI you'll be reminded why you decided to go for it.

Enjoy.

Yes! That's great. It really does something special to the Cooper.

I've got a Cooper JCW sound kit here in stock. I don't know if I have just the intake, but will check.

Personally you'll get better bang for your buck out of just the a cold air intake though.

How much do you think just the intake would cost?

Just for giggles I checked locally and it was like $1200+ I was scared to ask if that was just the *parts* price, but I suspect it was.

Sounds like i'm headed for a Megan exhaust

I haven't looked at any dyno charts for the JCW sound kit - then again, a dyno chart and $3.50 should get you a cup of coffee at most airports.

Thankfully I've got a bit of time before I have money burning a hole in my pocket. Kinda jumped the gun getting my Cooper before selling my other car, so the wife is a bit ...well, I'm in the dog house

FWIW, have you considered buying the whole kit on the cheap from Ralph Schomp and trying to sell the exhaust? I probably would've jumped on the exhaust only, had it ever come up in the marketplace.

Part of me wants to put the JCW sound kit, JCW suspension, and JCW brakes on my car. I think there's something cool about the factory (factory approved) performance parts. Being in Hawaii sucks for big car parts though. We almost always get murdered on shipping cost.

The videos I've seen on YouTube with the JCW exhaust are pretty nice. It's an increase over stock without being too annoying. Then again, my '71 Mini had a pipe from the engine to a cherry bomb with no real muffler. It was... just a wee bit loud at WOT.

There is SO much more stuff out there for the R50 than there was when I had my 02 MCS. Back then it seemed like if you didn't have the MCS you might as well not even try to find parts.
