JCW Garage Interested in John Cooper Works (JCW) parts for your 2nd Generation MINI? This is where JCW upgrades and accessories for the MINI Clubman (R55), Cooper and Cooper S (R56), and Cabrio (R57) MINIs are discussed.

JCW I've seen this a couple times - just confirming - re: price for JCW and install

I should be able to get the parts and dealer install for $2100 total if I haggle well and potentially buy or pricematch with Morristown?

I have a brand new 2010 MCSa and sounds like most people with an auto are very happy with the upgrade.

For some, it isn't about getting every inch of performance gain you can.

Do you have info that actually answers the question?

It's kind of strange, but Seattle Mini's website is currently offerering the tuning kit for the Clubman S at $1680 and the coupe is listed at $2100.

So can I buy the kit, get it installed not at the dealer, and still maintain warranty from using OEM parts?

I think you'll have to have it installed at the dealer, but you maintain your warranty. The Seattle dealers charge $230 for installation.

Quick answer is yes. I just did this on my new order. Morristown Mini and Prestige are well known for doing the kit installed for 2k +/- $100. Morristown mini even has this posted on their website. The dealer by me wanted 3K to do the install... using these quotes I got them down to 2k.

The other thing is you can order it from one dealer and have another dealer install it.

Still waiting on my mini ..... hopefully I get word today when I can bring it home.

You still have to have the dealer do the ECU remap.

While not stated, I would think in order to avoid warranty issues the dealer would have to do the install. After all there is a thread on here regarding them accusing people of using the wrong gas... if they do that ... they would definitely accuse us of screwing up the install... right or wrong.....

In other news apparently the JCW kit they ordered for my car was the clubman version..... so that puts delivery out to next week...... typical......

If you look at what can be gained from a good tune alone, the JCW is not a big bang for the buck--you can get better performance for a third of the cost. But if warranty is the deciding factor, then the JCW kit is reasonable, albeit expensive.

I put the JCW kit on my first gen MCS. If I had to do it over again, I'd do it aftermarket....

Passport Mini told me they would match Morristown's $1680.00+$500.00 install. After spending massive amounts of time here on NAM I have decided to use factory upgrades for everything but my suspension. BMW service can be difficult and expensive if they see aftermarket stuff when something breaks. Add to that the frequency in which our cars DO break they money vs perfomance argument is over (for me).

I agree, and intend to do this. That's a nice price-match. Hoping Crowne MINI in richmond will do the same, so far they quoted $2500 installed, but I didn't ask for a match or antyhing, just a price.

My MINI dealer matched Morristown and did the install for $250. With taxes, I was right around 2K for the entire thing.
