Need proper pressure for My New tires

I need a suggestion an what i pressure i should run on my new tires

205/40 r 17

the max psi on them is 40

Any thought

What does it say in your manual, or on the sticker on the door?

That's a good starting place, then adjust a little up or down based on the wear and handling you want.

40 is too much unless you're running at the track (and then it still might be), that's the max pressure the tire is rated for, it'll ride like it's on rocks at that press.

You might start at 35...

Is this a first gen Mini (r50-r53) or a second gen mini (r55-r57)?

Seems like the recommendations on tire changes are a little different. I can only say that for a r56 with the 17" rim option, the tire pressure is 38 psi all around as stated on the door sticker. I think it is a little high especially with the sport suspension but that is the recommendation.

it is an r56 but the rims and tires are after market
i droped them down to 35 but Im thinking it need a bit more air

Add a little (1-2 psi) to see if you like how it drives ...
