After Market rims and tires tpms

Is there any way to disable tpm.. I recently purchased a set of after market rims and tiers.. Without the tpm in them.. Of course the Tpm Light is on the hole time now..

Is their any solution I can do my self? I.e. Turn it off or disable the monitoring?

I asked the same thing when I had my GTI and the dealer acted like I was a felon..... without messing with the computer I dont think so. Its a big brother government thing... they want to make sure our tires are properly inflated apparently its a national security thing

Nope...have to transfer the TPMS to the new wheels, or buy more sensors ($200+)

AFAIK there's nothing (easy) that you can do to defeat the TPMS system. I just roll on my aftermarket wheels with the warning light on all summer .. you get used to ignoring it, and it's a lot cheaper than buying more sensors! However, if you're just swapping over to an aftermarket set of wheels and only using them instead of swapping out each season, any tire shop should be able to move the sensors over to the new wheels for you when they mount and balance them.

I had almost new tires, and my TPMS moved from a stock set of wheels to some new rims and it was about 100 bucks... they were also balanced. So for 25/ea they took off a tire, installed TPMS, put on a tire, and balanced...

Id expect something similar to do basically the same thing, if you already have tires mounted on said rims

TPMS Doesnt fit on all rims?

I have an 08 MCS. Went to the dealer this morn, have a nail in one of the runflats. so instead of buying 1 runflat for $250 i was going to buy 4 non runflats for $400.

So I asked the dealer about mounting the TPMS on another rim, and he said it depends on the rim, some rims, the mini TPMS cant be installed on.

I wanted to put the TPMS on a set of Gen 1 Bullets. Anyone know if that will work?

Most tire dealers can supply you with TPMS that will fit a particular wheel and work with a MINI. You'll probably save $$ by having your tire work done somewhere other than a MINI dealership. In some cases they charge double what a good tire place will charge.
