I'll be hosting a swap meet at my private residence in Escondido 92025 (not far from the Wild Animal Park) on Sunday March 28th for people who are looking to buy, sell, or swap parts for their original, classic Austin, Morris, Leyland, or Rover Mini and Mini Cooper or Cooper S. If you have stuff for the newer 2002-2010 MINIs, feel free to come along, too. [edit: date changed from Saturday to Sunday March 28th to avoid a date conflict with the LA club]

This is an informal swap meet to help me get rid of stuff (lots of giveaways) and to help people get their cars back on the road. If someone makes a few bucks getting rid of surplus parts, even better. Last year we had about 60 people show up and we're hoping for the same or even more this year!

If you know old British cars, you'll know that there are a lot of crossover parts for other A-series cars, like the mg midget and the bugeye sprite. And there's lots of lucas electrical parts that are also shared with other marques like the jaguar and triumphs-- so if you've got or want parts for those cars, you are welcome to stop by.

Please email me to get the exact street address and let me know if you are interested as a seller, buyer, or even just want to swing by to check it out-- that way I'll know how many people to expect and can make arrangements with the neighbors for parking, appropriate sized vendor space, etc.

FWIW: We have a small club called SD Minis and if you haven't already met someone in the club, this will also be a good chance to meet some crazed mini/MINI owners and maybe find a new group of folks to hang out with. If all you want is parts for cheap, that's fine too.

There will be a couple of cars there for sale as well. And there will also be a truckload of free parts to give away that I'm tired of storing. (my place seems to be a depository of stuff that people are tired of kicking in their garages-- I'll be passing that stuff on as I too am getting tired of kicking their stuff )

 

Only a few more days! And the stuff keeps piling up. Just today someone emailed me from LA area and is bringing down 10 boxes of stuff, he says, including 1275 engine(s?), transmissions and a host of other items.
