2007 Base Cooper Satellite info

Hi, just looking for info on whether or not the 2007 Base Cooper has the "farka" style cable under the passenger seat, and if anyone used it during their satellite aftermarket install. I have the XM Onyx receiver. I did see people who have 2008's list that they used it, but did not find anyone from 2007 stating that the FM antenna doubles as a satellite antenna? If this cable is what I see running into the floor under the pass. seat, how do I get it out? I don't want to pull on it as it seems like anytime you take a Mini anywhere, I hear the sound KA--CHING!!! and all prices triple. It took a Best Buy installer with (he claims) 12 years of experience 5 min to get my car started. He said he Never tried a sate install on a Mini and proceeded to try to rip the key fob out of the dash...I SAID Hold it!! He said "We'll just start tearing out panels, you'll have to pay more as it will be a learning curve for us, but we should be able to get it in">.....I said no way and took off!

errrr

Thanks, I think you had sent me a response to an earlier question. What if I don't want to pull out my seat(s) like you did? How does one get the wire out into the open (the pink end) Tell me like I'm 5 yrs old as I am not very mechanically inclined and am shy about breaking anything I can't pay for. Thanks, Pat

If your mini has the DSC option then the connector will be exposed under the seat.

If you don't have DSC it's gonna be tucked under the carpet taped to a styrofoam block. Just reach down into precut carpet and feel around for it.

ok, thanks for the pics...I don't have the dsc box, just the plain old carpet. I'll take a look and see what I can see. Did you go Sirius or XM ?

your plug/car

Hey Oxy...your picture, where you took your seats out...the yellow plug...was the pink end just lying under the seat because you have DSC or was it also tucked under your carpet?

Well...you're braver than I because I took a 10 minute look with a high powered flashlight. it does not go back toward the back of the seat under the carpet like in the new pics you sent me, it makes a sharp curve to the door, then another sharp curve forward, and kinda pushes downward its way into the colored steel trim that cuts across, same as in your picture, under the front of the front seat. sorry to be a pest. Is this cord only for a farka/satellite add on? you mentioned airbags, does this run into some electrical circuit...? which is why I don't want to pull or yank it out and break something that could send me to the shop 3 plus hours away one way. Thanks...
