DoS Dyno and Tuning Day in St. Louis, MO on 4/24/10.
On April 24th, 2010, Defenders of Speed will be hosting a dyno and tuning day in Saint Louis. There are two options for those interested in attending:
1) Come and have your car dyno'ed to see how much horsepower and torque your MINI actually puts to the pavement. Your car will get 3 pulls on a Dynapack Dynamometer for $80.00 to establish your car's performance baseline.
2) If you feel like you'd still like more our of your MINI after your baseline dyno, have Clint tune your ECU to reap more performance out of your little beast. He will be tuning all supercharged and turbocharged MINIs from 2002 and onward to improve power delivery, overall horsepower, and torque output. Pricing is $80.00/hour for dyno time and $250 for tuning.
The Details:
Saint Louis MINI Club member Elizabeth Hileman is a friend of the dyno shop owner. She has helped to set us up with a reduced dyno rental rate of $80.00/hour (instead of the normal $100.00 per hour that the shop normally charges).
Clint will only be coming to town if at least 4 cars are signed up for a tuning session. If we can get more than 8 cars signed-up. we may be able to get the dyno rental rate down to an even lower rate (TBD). The maximum number of MINIs that Clint has agreed to tune in one day is 8. This ensures that he has adequate time to carefully tune your MINI's ECU for safe performance on the street and track. If enough interest is generated, we are considering adding another day to the calendar adjacent to 4/24/10.
Please email Clint at DoS directly to let him know if you're interested in attending this St. Louis MINI Club event and for more information concerning the event. He can be reached at clint@defendersofspeed.com .

it is a ECU flash that matches and maximizes the performance of your car based on the mods you have. If you don't have any mods, pulley, exhaust, intake i.e. it is not really worth it. from your list you would probably benefit from a good tune...

I would recommend an upgrade to larger injectors (380cc is fine for most street driven/daily driver MINIs).
If your complete list of mods is not below, please email me so that I can get your complete performance picture.

Agreed.
I have not booked my flights yet, so I might be able to do it and installs of other parts on the Friday (4/23) before 4/24 session. We just need someone with a nice home garage or other shop space to lend the club some time & space for installs that day.
If anyone in the club can lend space, definitely shoot me an email.

I have too much money going out this time of year to do anything extra right now. I had to cancel my trip to MOTD this year and have been rethinking the family vacation. It figures there is a tune party when I am on a budget
Just curious, i have done a lot of research on the injectors and from what I gather the stock will work fine with 15% pulley exhaust and intake and you may want to upgrade to 380 or 400 when doing the 17%. Can you give me a little insight on this?

I used the stock injectors when I put a 15% reduction pulley on my R53. I went to 380's after I upgraded my cylinder head. I'll be running 400's or 440's this summer after I modify the current tune on my car.

There is still room, don't miss out.
Don't miss your chance to catch Clint in Saint Louis. One of the west coast's premier tuners, isn't in town often, get a tune or see just what you car does on a chassis dyno, this opportunities don't happen often in the gateway city.
Join in the fun.
I just talked to Clint and he is giving away an Auto Art MINI Model to the car that puts out the best HP on the dyno. So if you just want to schedule time to see what you car really puts out contact Clint and schedule some dyno time. You can just come by any watch and see the operation.
