OK, as I mentioned before I got my Borla, 15%pulley and BM short-shiter on Friday at Helix13.

Well, I thought I felt all the joys of it, but nothing like a few minutes ago... at work we have a huge parking lot all around the bulding, and I took a co-worker for a spin. (He drove, "Erikgil" on NAM) Oh... my... god... It feels like there's just no limit to power, if you gun it at any speed, the car just rips from underneeth you! It's awesome!

(Here's the road outlined in yellow, I do not recommend anyone to drive there though, it's private property, and I'm sure they won't like it!)

Here's the question though: I didn't dyno my car, but I'm wondering what is the typical horsepower output with the mods I have? My guess would be about 175hp the weels. Anyone has a better idea? Here's exactly what I have done:

Borla Street Exhaust, 15% Pulley, Alta Intake.

Anyone?

I cannot confirm nor deny that any or all of the actual event stated above occured in this dimension. All characters portrayed are purely fictional and are not modelled after your typical "ricer"

But Yummmy. Liquid Yellow get's better and better!

Great to hear about the new power. The pulley is definitely the best mod for the money.
We have a similar business park in my area and it's a blast to drive it, especially late at night when no one's around.

175 at the wheels would mean 197 at the crank. Just an estimate here but the average stock MCS dynos around 144 at the wheels. Add 15 for the pulley and 5 for the Borla. That gives you 20HP or about 164 at wheels. That'll give you just about a hair under 185 at the crank.

And oh yeah - Helix rules! I'm deciding if (or more like when) to upgrade to 17 or 19%!

I think that the Borla coupled with the Alta intake gives you more than 5 ponies.

Do you have any stickers??? that will make a difference...

Congratz Phobol,

All good things

I have a similar setup to you.
The 15% helix pulley, Borla Street, Madness/Rogue intake....plus the Powerchip Re-map.
I have not dyno'd my car yet but I was told I should have between 200 & 205 HP.
Here's my math......(educated guess from a great many varied posts/claims/results/etc....etc.... )
163 base..... +14 pulley, +14 Ecu upgrade +7 air intake + 5 exhaust= 203

Peace,
D

SCC had a stock Mini Cooper S that dynoed at 166 hp at the wheels. Think about that.

Ah - i missed that. At the top he doesn't mention the Alta intake.

Pretty good estimates although I doubt air intakes make that much of a difference especially when you have a number of other mods. Still I'm sure it feels great. I'm dying to get the ECU. :???:

Helix and GIAC are you listening????

David:

A typical bone-stock MCS will produce between 142 and 145 wheel horsepower on our MD-250. With those mods, we are consistenly seeing 168-172 wheel horsepower (186 to 190 crank). Don't be fooled by those numbers, though, you'll easily out drag a "200 horsepower" JCW car.

When lapping your office park, remember that smoothness equals speed, and don't forget to add 2 seconds to your time for each pedestrian you hit.

Thanx! (I still wanna dyno the car, just for the #s. I know it's silly, it won't change the seat-of-the-pants feel)

Heh. It's not really the pedestrians but more like the 200 landscapers all scurrying about.

Bing. Leaf blower guy = 6 points.
Bong. Walk behind mower guy=3 points

Why does the leaf blower guy get a higher score? Easy. He can maneuver better. Squirmy little guys I tell ya

Fun galore at lunch in the Fall around this office park!

please be careful racing around unless your sure it's deserted....harken back to an earlier thread where someone was doing 90 through their office park during the irrigation cycle and went over a wall almost killing he and his passenger...

a nice secluded park is very tempting
