The kid down the Street has his Dads big Ariens Snow blower. He wants $15 to clear my driveway and walk. I always give him $25 & and 1 or 2 hot chocolates. What a great kid, I literally have to force him to take the $$.

Do what I did, pack up and move south, sick and tired of the snow. If that's not an option, by a snow blower, more money, less time, aches and pains.

Grew up and lived in the NY/NJ area forever. After a serious knee injury and surgery and a few BAD!! winters I knew it was time for a CHANGE. So we relocated to the Research Triangle area In North Carolina. How long have you been in Jersey?

I married a Jersey girl when I was in the service. Of course, I was stationed in Idaho, and met her in Alexandria Va. Long story, short courtship. No, we had our first child after almost 4 years of marriage.

And I've lived here for 26 years, and grew up in Ct.

So I am used to snow, although I could REALLY do with less next year.

Columbia isn't my ideal place to settle. I like to visit now and again, but no plans to live there. The triangle area in NC is good for me.

Spent 4 years in Charleson SC while in the service.

If I could afford it, I would retire down there (not sure my wife would though ) She was not a real fan of the summer heat.

I've got a husband with a snowblower...however this last storm he spent most of in the garage trying to fix the dam* thing and I spent it out front with a shovel Did I mention my back is killing me and he managed to fix it when I was almost done.

or a Trophy with a Golden Shovel...It's called a "JOHNY"...Oscar was taken.

The Nominees for Best Snow Shoveling or the Act of Snow Shoveling:

1. Ed, making a path for his Smart Car.

2. Peggy, showing the MINI mounds...and shoveling.

3. Vic, "Honey, I got to meet the guys at Starbucks, tonight!"...it just snowed 6" inches.

4. John, "Honey, I finished fixing the Snowblower...Oh Wow! You did a great job Honey!"

So, the smart car will look like a bobber on the end of a bamboo fishing pole in the water.

Depends on how old you are.
At my age the risk is greater than the reward, therefore... no shoveling.
That's why God created all wheel drive and MINIs with snow tires.
