Advanced (i think) iPod Control Question for 09 Cooper

Hi all...so i have an 09 JCW convertible with convenience package and, thus, ipod control. It works like a charm but i am unable to figure out how to do the following without disconnecting/reconnecting my ipod:

if i am listening to a playlist and want to return to my global tracklist, how do i do so??? I like to shuffle thru all of my tracks but sometimes listen to specific playlists...unfortunately, once i do so, there seems to be no easy way to go back to global track listing again...

I kinda feel like a moron for not being able to figure this out, but it doesn't seem easy to do. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

can't you just choose "List" far left button?

Just choose Artist, All and play the first track, and turn random on.

The button all the way on the right, looks like the repeate symbol that is on CD players from back in the day. Keep pressing that until you get back to being able to choose list artist song etc.

Then goto artist -> all select the first song then press random and you should be good to go.

when i choose artist, all, and select the first song, then random, it ONLY cycles thru songs from that artist...i tried that before posting and was completely frustrated as it seemed the most logical choice.

From what you are saying it sounds as if you are selecting an artist not the "ALL" above the first artist.

I have no problems with random play of "all" artists.

I have not looked at the settings on my iPod in a while. Is it possible that some setting is turned on on the iPod to shuffle by artist when you select random. I wonder because when I unplug my iPod Touch from the car it will keep playing the song that was on in the car, as long as the car is running. So perhaps its possible that a setting in the iPod is causing an issue.

I had the same struggle this morning on the way into work. The solution I found was to index back to the main selections (i.e. Genres, Artists, etc.). From this list I selected Songs and then I think "All". Choose the first one from the list and put it on Random from there.

Like others above mentioned, The repeat-like button on the right side will get you back to the top level menu. Then choose the all selection under one of the other categories.

I did have an issue once on my 2010 cooper where no matter which menu I chose it still repeated the same artist. Man did I get tired of that song. I then did have to unplug the Ipod to fix it. But it only happened that one time.
