Cooper S 2010 Convertible - iPhone

I went all out with my latest MINI Cooper purchasing a fully loaded 2010 Cooper S Convertible. I bought all packages including Comfort Bluetooth, NAV, HK Speakers, iPod connector, etc.

I have the Y Cable that plugs into the usb/audio connection below the stereo. This works great and all features work properly - my iphone charges and plays on my stereo with ease. What I am trying to figure out is, how do I holster it nicely? Right now I rest it upside down in a cup holster. I know there is a center armrest hidden compartment that has some sort of connector on it - but it seems this is uesless for me since I have the ipod connector in the front.

I am considering purchasing a new Proclip holster to hookup to the right of the stereo - but if anyone has other suggestions, they would be welcome!

If you have Comfort Bluetooth you know that you can buy a custom snap in cradle for your iPhone that fits in the armrest right? Just make sure you buy the right one...check out the info in this thread before you do.

Did you spend the $100 for Smartphone Prep?...it matters as to what cradle you need...and the degree of functionality that you will have.

Other options are to mount it up near the steering wheel sot hat you can see the screen. Two mounts come to mind.

Kuda Mounts - They have two different styles. One fits next to the center console upright and the other mounts up on the dash near the speedo. Then you also need the cradle for the iPhone.

The second option is from Craven Speed. These mount to the screws on the back of the Tach and then have arms available to put the iPhone in.

I am sure there are other options as well but these are ones that I know people have used and I have seen them and they both look very nice.

I picked up this mount not too ling ago. I thought I should share it since it doesn't take and drilling or modifications to install and it's very secure. It mounts to the floor by sliding under a bolt that holds down the passenger seat. The seat slides easily and it has a 15 inch bendable arm.

I've never had a gps signal issue and it's in a great spot to use the Ipod cord that the Mini uses.

For those of us without the creaky center armrest, the best solution is to slip your iPod/iPhone into the little cargo net on the passenger side of the center tunnel. The cable is the perfect length to drop it in there, and it virtually disappears. Perfect solution.

doesn't seem like there is a way to mount the iphone/ipod anywhere unless you get a longer Y-cable.

The cable is so short all you can do it put it in the cup holder.
