AAARRRGGGHHHHH! Can't stop the chiming!

So I went to the Mobil station car wash this morning, to get some of the winter crud sprayed off my '09 JCW.
While waiting in line, I grabbed a towel and did some wiping down of the dashboard area, and I accidentally pushed a little too hard on the emergency flasher button.
I pushed it down again to turn them off, and they wouldn't turn off. I pushed it again, tried holding it down for a few seconds, nothing; flashers stayed on, along with the chiming.
Finally after some more pushing, the flashers turned off, but the chimes stayed on.
Now I'm back home, and for the life of me, I can't get these stupid chimes to stop.
Any ideas??? TIA!!!!!!

I'm not sure if it'll work but you could try to pull the battery lead for a while and see if that resets it???

Well, I just went back in the garage to do take another try at the chimes, and they had finally stopped, on their own.
No idea what had caused them to stay on, but I hope they don't do that again; it's annoying as...well, it's annoying.

I have an 08 so it is slightly different from the 09 but my double flashes do not "chime" when they are on.

How about others - Do the Double Flashers Chime?

My question is did you have the seat belt fastened? because that would definitely chime at you.

Just curious.

I don't understand why the chime would go off with the flashers. ???

Doug we've seen this situation a few times in our shop. Your MINI is signalling that it wants something. Sometimes new wheels or tires will work. One lil guy was satisfied by just a window decal.

No idea. I had never turned the flashers on before, so I just assumed the chiming was connected, somehow; especially since I couldn't turn the flashers off without a bunch of banging on the hazard button.

I had my seatbelt on at the time, and no passenger or any weight on the passenger seat.

That's probably it. I haven't spent any money on the car for months.
