OEM Repair manual for 2005 Cooper S

Hello all for Houston TX

2005 COOPER S
New to this site and still getting a hold of it. Sorry if this post is in the wrong area, but I need help. I have been looking for the OEM repair manual like crazy. I remember the days when everything was on hard back. Now the BMW techs tell me it is all on the internet so there is no manual to buy. So I have been looking for a disc or something on ebay and everywhere else you can think of. I bought one for ebay and it sucked. Nothing like what I was expecting. PLEASE help! Where can I find the RIGHT OEM BMW repair manual? I need to replace a leaky hose on my power steering reservoir. Thanks in advance.

This is about the best price I've found it (aside from finding a gently used one).

Welcome, your best bet is probably a Bentley Manual it's got just about every item you could need to repair and all the information including tools needed for each job. I've used it for everything related to our cars.

So you say you bought a DVD off Ebay and and it sucked. Was it the BMW/MINI Technical Information System? If so that's what the dealer techs use and is by far the most complete database for MINI repair. The bentley manual is basically a knockoff on paper.

NO, its not a BMW/MINI Tech Info System...I didnt know what to look for. I have tried the Bentley Manuals and there has to be something more. I have never liked the Bentley Manals. I would like something that shows exploded mechanical schematics of everything assembled/dissembled. I guess I am spoiled. I also have a 1987 4Runner and the repair manual is awesome! I will start looking for a BMW/MINI Tech Info System. Will it be most likely on a disc?

Thanks, Oxy! Also, is it really necessary to replace the brake sensor every time you change brake pads (front/back). Even if you didnt short the sensor?

If you didn't short the sensor(the copper band is not broken) then no not at all.

www.realoem.com

narrow your search down to the specific build date of your car and you can find pretty much every part you could ever need.. with the part numbers the same as the dealership uses.

i will usually search for those part numbers on like ecstuning.com or something.. ecstuning doesn't seem to have a specific menu system for mini parts, but just about everything shows up when you search for it by part number..

just bought new plastic rivets and bumper cover mounts on there today! Mine were chewed up this weekend when i started pulling my clutch.. by chewed up i mean i took a screw driver to them and beat the holy hell out of them to get them out since the phillips heads were stripped (that was my fault, too, from doing the a/c compressor).

Dealers are connected to a BMW only site that the technicians use. If you want to get something similar go for the Bentley Manual, it's the best manual available for the 02-06 MINI's

I know you have many requests and I don't want to overburden you but I would love to have a copy as well.

I noticed you show DC and Charlotte as your home. I live in Western NC near Marion.

Thanks!

I got a DVD off ebay for my 2005 Cooper and as someone else said, it is basically the tech service manual.

I also had power steering leaks top and bottom. I took the original clamps off the top hoses under the reservoir and replaced then with better hose clamps. Ones you could tighten. I left the bottom original hose clamps on and put a better hose clamps just above them. No more power steering leaks.

Considering all the requests already, I'm too ashamed to ask for a copy too. But some guidance as to where I can cheaply buy the CORRECT disc--and not a crappy fleaBay counterfeit--would be appreciated. (Of course, if you were to send out yet another copy to me, I'd also be very grateful...)
