Both the front and back towing hooks are exposed. That's how it looked like since I got it. Is it hidden somewhere or is this normal?

No they are supposed to be there. Make sure you contact your dealer asap to let them know. When we took delivery of my wife's 07 one of them wasn't too secure so I had to put a little silicone on it to make it more stabile. They probably are somewhere at the dealer.

Why wouldn't you have asked if they were "supposed" to be there or not, this problem could have been solved before you even left the Dealership??!!

BTW...how many pics. have you seen with them missing on other MINIs??

Take it easy on miniwanabe. It's only natural to be excited when picking up your new car, and something like a missing tow hook cover can easily be overlooked. I'm sure the dealer has 'em somewhere. Welcome aboard and happy motoring. Now you need to change your screen name.

Yeah I can't believe I overlooked them too. My only excuse is that it was raining =/. I was hoping someone was going to tell me they were just in the trunk or something =p.
Anyways, I called the dealer and someone said they'd look into it but also told me to check my owners manual. It wasn't there...

I will change my username soon, thanks for the the replies

Your manual wasn't there? That's ridiculous. This is a brand new car, right?

Sorry for the confusion, I mean the towing panels weren't in the black packet with all manuals. Which is weird because now that I think back, I never noticed having them at the dealer. And it is a brand new MCS.

Just for more clarification, did most of you have to put the towing panels on yourself, or did it just come from the dealer with them already on.

Thanks again

They should already be on the car I think. They probably have a drawerful of them in all colors at the dealership.

I saw my car on Delivery Day (Car Transport Delivery Day), they were not installed, the Stripes however were. I made 'note to self' to make sure they were installed on Vehicle Delivery Day, they were.

Didn't mean to be so hard on you, sorry.

I printed out the Check List that's floating around somewhere here on NAM and added some of my own things, yes, I even forgot some of those L@@Ky things, but I had a Great MA so I knew I was in Good Hands!!

Mine were on the car when I picked it up, but I had to wait while the bonnet stripes were installed. This was way back in May, 2002, when MINI was still getting their act together as they hadn't actually delivered that many cars by that time. My MA was actually a BMW salesman!

No worries ^_^

The person who sold it to me didn't get in when I called so I left him a message. Hopefully he gets to the bottom of it.

Thanks for the replies

I drove my car away from the lot all 50 miles, got home, and realized the driver side door wouldn't unlock from the door handle! we miss obvious stuff in the excitement...

I had one loose and it would pop out regularly when I bought mine. The dealer replaced it. You should do that instead of caulking it in place.
