Removing the cupholder petals?

I saw someone mention removing the rubber petals from their cupholders to make them slightly less annoying to use. Are they just friction fit, or are there clips/snaps I need to work around?

Thanks!

Very simple to do. simply pry off the plastic trim ring around the cup holder and remove the petals. Mine came off years ago with out me doing anything and i had to glue the ring back in place.

I just moved one of the front rings and the ash tray back to the rear cupholder.

Makes a good coin holder ond ring keeps it from moving, there is a rubber ring (with the petals) within the plastic ring and it has little tabs on outer side if ring to hold it.

Easy to remove with your fingers, if you want to move it back, be sure to align the tabs with the little slots in the cupholder.

All you really need to do is grab one of the pedals and pull. The ring of annoying pedals will come right out from under the top ring.

What if you wanted to add them and the ring?
