Few Questions.

Hey everyone. I currently own a 05 Cooper S, and I am in the market for a R56, I have found a pretty nice looking used one but have a few questions.

The car has the JCW body kit with the painted arches, while I prefer the black plastic ones, it is possible to switch them out? And how hard, and or expensive?

It has a bunch of JCW accessories, including the tuning kit. Also has JCW brakes, but I am sure these brakes are from the previous generation. Can someone please confirm, and if so are they completly compadable? (if that makes sence)

Is there a way to see if the stereo is the upgraded one? I believe it's called the Hi-Fi.

Can anyone identify the wheels on the car also? The honda dealership is claiming they are JCW but I am very certain they are not. I do like them but am hoping to fit a mini centercap in them.

I have not seen the car in person, I will see it tomorrow. From the pictures is there anything else noticable that I should be aware of?

Thanks in advance for any help/info!! Cheers.

First yes you can change out the painted arches to the plastic for pretty easily and cheaply. I don't know why you would that looks nice just as is.
Second the rims look like the Challenge spokes but they don't have the center spokes. But they might be ADRs. If when you check it out look at the lip it should have the brand on there maybe.
Third it looks like it has the HI-FI because it has the tweeters in the pillars. Mine does not have the HI-FI and there is no tweeters.
And if you don't mind me asking how much?
Also it looks lowered.

Thanks for the reply Porthos. Yes they also claim, it has the JCW suspension, is there any easy way to check that? They are asking 29K.

Get under it and look at the springs they should be red and say JCW. What year again. Looks clean though.

The car does not have the JCW aero kit. It has the factory aero kit also called the hypersport aero kit in prior years.

You can replace the arches for about $250 or so but why?

The car has the hi-fi audio with the tweeters in the A pillars.

Those are not Challenge wheels. They are definitely aftermarket.

Nice looking car with JCW goodies inside. What is the asking price and miles?

Thanks guy's, It's a 2007 with 27,000 km's as it's up here in Canada. Is there any advantage to the 08,09,2010's, other than the new Harmon Kardon? Hey Porthos, I notice you have the JCW stearing wheel with suede on it, how is it holding up?

A new 2010 JCW can be purchased for 29k

The wheels look like cheap ASA or rota's

In canada factory JCW's start at 38K completly base. I just recently built a brand new Cooper S with Jcw tunning kit and body kit, etc etc, for about 45K, so this seems like a decent deal to me. I will see tomorrow the shape and condition of car, and determine.

You prefer the plastic arches to the painted ones!?! That's a first. I'm sure someone would love to trade with you.

Well, I looked at and test drove the Mini today, and I really like it! In person the painted acrhes actually look very stunning with the body kit. It is in great shape and all the JCW goodies just make it that much more fun. The only thing I do not like is the previous owner installed t.v's in the back of both headrests I wonder how much 2 new headrests will cost? i got the Vin# and Mini Canada is doing a history report and sending it via e-mail to me tomorrow with options the car has, maintence history, etc etc. So once that clears its negotiating time.

I prefer the plastic to painted myself. I have the factory aero kit and will be swapping it out for the JCW aero kit in another week or two. Replacing my painted arches with the black matte textured ones. That is how a JCW is supposed to look. JCW aero kit with the black matte wheel arches.

Anyone want to buy my laser blue factory aero kit in mint condition with 12k miles?. Make me an offer.

And my bad that is a JCW aero kit all painted up. Hard to tell from that angle.
