Stereo keeps shutting off
Hello all,
I installed an amp some months ago (I posted pictures and what not on this site, you can see the install in my history), and have been very happy with my sound system up till about a week or two ago. Since then my stereo just cuts off, (no sound will come out) if I play it any higher than a moderate level. In order to restore the sound I have to turn my car off than on again. The amp seems to be in working order when this takes place (as in there is no warning lights that appear at any time), so I believe the fault to be with my stock head unit. Any ides?
Thanks,
Michael .

I owuld guess that somethign in your wiring is wonky, and when you turn it up too loud it over drives the HU. Try this:
Fade your music all the way to the front and then turn it up LOUD.....does it power down? I had a similar situation and it happened while i had a LOC installed and when i had my fade set to the middle. When i was faded mostly to the front i never had the issue. I replaced the LOC with a cleansweep and the problem when away.
