Is you stereo control **** slow to respond?

I'm not sure if my stereo is broken, or if the problem I'm having is simply how the MINI Cooper control **** works. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the same problem and can give feedback.

Here's an example of what's going on with my stereo. When I'm scrolling through a playlist (or even if I'm turning the **** to find a radio station) it seems like it takes 3-4 clicks on the control **** to move the selection just one song down the playlist.

This makes getting through a playlist take a helluva long time. Seems like I'm spinning the **** forever, but barely moving down the playlist.

I'm wondering if on your stereo, does one click of the **** result in moving one song down the playlist?

My MINI has done this since day one of owning it, and I'm trying to determine if mine is broken, or if all MINIs have this minor annoyance.

I hope I explained the problem clearly. If not, lemme know and I will clarify.

Thanks for your feedback.

Sidney

That doesn't sound right to me. However, I spin the ***** fast they do miss the signals. When I turn the upper **** in an MP3 disc, each click does represent one selection movement down the list.

As strobey says turning the know to fast will cause it to skip and this is somewhat normal. I experience this occasionally.

Try slowing down your turning and see if that helps if it does not help then take it to the dealer and they will unfortunately tell you there is nothing wrong until you force the issue.

Same problem

I, too, have the same problem. It takes forever to scroll through my list of 3500 songs. I am curious what the previous poster meant by "til you press the issue?"

Many dealers not just MINI will tell you there is nothing wrong if there is a way to get the item you are complaining about to do what it is supposed to do. I.E. slow down the turning of the know in this case. But if you press the issue and keep complaining about it and or tell them they MUST fix what you are complaining about then most times they will buckle and fix or replace the item you are complaining about. In this particular case though there is NOTHING they can do it is part of the design.

Try dividing songs in folders. I use an 4gb usb drive. I have on folder per disc and works really good. I suppose that if there's a huge list of files in a single folder it will hurt performance.
