Getting my New to me Clubbie tomorrow.

Just stopping in to say hi and drop a note about my new Clubman. I should wait until I have it so I can post some pics but am pretty excited so need some outlet.

The car is a Lasar Blue Metalic 2009 MINI Clubman JCW. It is pretty much loaded with almost all options including Premium, Convienience, Cold Weather, Nav, Alarm, Punch Leather, HI FI, Aluminum Trim, etc. It has 5300 miles and has been in service since Aug 2008.

I'm coming out of a 2007 BMW e90 335i. I think I will probably miss the huge whp and torque of the BMW, especially since it was chipped part of the time I owned it, but it is coming up on 50K miles and I relly didn't feel like buying an extended warranty and the tires it would need soon, so decided to part with it. But I was having a real hard time figuring out what I wanted to replace it with, that was until I saw a Clubman on the road for the first time (or at least the first time I noticed this "stretched" MINI). I always loved the look of MINI's but it simly wasn't practical for a family guy with a wife and 2 young kids. After I went and looked at an "S" version and test drove it, I was pretty much sold but decided if I could find a JCW that would be all the better since I will likley be jonsing for all the WHP and wheel torque I can get. I haven't even test driven a JCW yet but was fine with the S so should be real happy with the JCW.

Anyway, I'll post up some pics once I get her home. Just wanted to say hi and tell you I'm looking forward to joining the team

Congratulations of course, but moving from a BMW to a MINI is quite an adjustment, be looking forward to your impressions down the road.

Thanks for the welcoming replies. There has been a complete change for me however. The private owner I was purchasing the Clubman from tried to tell me he had a new offer and needed 3000.00 more than we had agreed on so needless to say that deal didn't get done

But it turned out to be a blessing in disguise (I hope). I instead bought a Clubman on EBay this AM after I found out that deal was gone. It is not as nicely equipped but still very well optioned and it has even less miles and a more recent in sevice date.

The Car: A 2009 Dark Silver Metalic Clubman JCW edition with Premium, Nav, Convienience, Sat Radio, Rear Fogs, Xenon Headlights.

The main options that the other car had that this one doesn't is Leather, Cold Package, Alarm, Hi Fi, and PDC. I think I will miss the leather but the leatherette looks like pretty good quality so that will be fine. The cold weather package I don't think I will miss at all since I live in SoCal and park in a garage at both home and work and honestly never use heated seats in my car or my wifes. Alarm is another thing I really don't care about. The standard 6 speaker audio I understand leaves a lot to be desired but I have read the upgraded system aint too hot either. 2010's got a major upgrade (Harmon Kardon I think?). I will probably look into adding an amp and replacing the speakers at some point and loo forward to reading the DIY section to see what folks have done in this regards.

The car is missing a couple of items I think will be must haves for me, a Center Armrest (still can't believe that's an option) and PDC. I plan to retrofit both of these and would appreciate any info or links that can get me started on this.

I really hope you gave the Private Party Seller a piece of your mind...and let them know that due to their "head up their butt" attitude they will no longer be welcome on NAM!! How disgraceful, dispicable and down right awful to do to a fellow MINIac...unconscionable!!

I hear you radgator, when I purchased mine, I almost bought a JCW clubman but somebody made a better offer.

Then I found the car had some "issues" not disclosed by the dealer (FYI: not a mini dealer).

But just like you, I found another "better" car and I am extremely happy with my clubman S (even though is not a JCW)

Enjoy your clubman JCW!!!

I'm telling you it's going to be a blast, I can't stop driving mine!

I think you are right. I really have no hard feelings against the other guy. I didn't have a contract other than his word, so he was under no obligation to sell to me. I do wonder if he planned the "bait and switch" tactic all along, and if I would have lost the other car because of him I would have been .

But it all worked out in the end. I just hope everything works out with getting my car shipped and I can't wait until it is sitting in my driveway. Then everything should be .

I went from a '06 E90 325I. I loved the car. Not as quick as the 335I but still nice. It's weird going back to a front wheel drive. But both my wife and I love my new clubman! I have a feeling you will too.

Really, I heard that M coupe is a beast, and a really rare car at that. I came out of a C55 AMG and while I miss the torque, I don't miss it breaking down every month

I was the $1400+ tires that were killing me every 20k miles.

My problem was the $1300 payment every month, it's nice to not see that beast any more. The car is a blast to drive though, I really enjoyed owning it and it's one of the few I could see doing so again at some point in the future.
