it rains here a lot and my work drive is limestone so im thinkin about getting some front mudflaps to keep the sides of the car cleaner. does anyone have a pic with some installed and how difficult on a scale of 1-10 is it? Thanks

skooby, sorry I don't have a picture for you. I'm pretty sure if you use the Search utility / button (upper right), you can find some. I remember looking at pics and unlike many, deciding I actually didn't like the look. I opted to have the door and side panels covered with the clearbra material from the bottom about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up. I'm not pushing it as a solution, but most of the time, it works pretty well. I live out in the country--dirt roads and dairy farms so I wanted something that would protect those panels witout the mudflaps.

Good luck, and Happy Motoring!

I only put the front flaps on mine .. it was pretty easy to do, honestly.. The hardest part is taking the wheel off (if you feel the need to) to get a drill in there to make the appropriate holes for them. I like the look, and it did help cut down on water/dirt/whatever spray on the doors a bit. Here's a couple shots:

*sigh* looking at those old photos again makes me miss the summer months even more..

Not sure how much they run at the dealer, I picked mine up from fastmini.net for 32 bucks + shipping.

It's the first thing I did to my MINI .. I wasn't about to pay the dealer labor to do such an easy thing! I only took the wheels off to give me more room to work with due to the tight clearance, but I don't believe you have to. Here's an illustrated walkthrough to help visualize what needs done (looks like the pics are dead, so download the attached pdf): https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post1567369

I did just the fronts using the guide that t0ad just posted and the official mini install guide. I left the wheels on, just turned them all the way to make room in the wheel well. Two hints: Use something like white out or a light color paint to mark where the holes line up. The instructions say to pull the corners of the red tape backing out to the edge of the mudflap so you can just pull it after the placement is correct. I used a piece of scotch tape to extend the tail after I didn't leave enough sticking out on the first side I did.
