GARAGE BROKEN INTO PARTS STOLEN!!!!!

My garage was broken into last night and I had several parts stolen for my MCS. I'm gonna troll ebay and craigs list locally to see if suddenly someone is selling these things. It would be great if anyone on here who stumbles across a sudden lump of items resembling mine might pass the word on to me.

Here's what I had stolen:

(2) Michelin Pilots 17 inch
(1) Alta 15% super charger pulley
(1) Supercharger belt
(1) set of BRISK silver racing spark plugs
(1) Set of Tein S lowering springs (the green ones)
(1) B & M Cold air intake for BMW 3 series
(1) Specialized StumpJumper M2 comp Mtn Bike Mango color with Blue Mantoux suspension fork with mavic rims, and ritchey pedals

Thanks.

Sorry man, nothing worse than thieves.

Call me paranoid, but it seems to me it was someone who knew what you had.

That sucks!! Kinda weird that some random person would steal a supercharger belt and an Alta pulley though...and spark plugs...

yeah, these folks struck between 530pm and 10 pm and managed to break through my security screen and wooden door. they went for very specific things and left other things. so, they clearly knew what i had and must have had a truck and a look out. since i was out at the time (car not in garage, but with me) it's possible they were hoping to steal the mini at the same time.

took cops an hour to arrive - despite me stating that two unfamiliar vehicles to our condo suddenly drove off as i pulled in.

guess it just goes to prove that performance parts should go on the car asap! i snoozed and i looozed (terrible grammar i know)

Ill be on the lookout, but it might help to know where they would be coming from, If you don't mind putting your location. If not, ill be on the general lookout.

If that's all they stole from your garage, it sounds like they knew EXACTLY what their taking. Something is a bit fishy about this...

Kinda fishy!
Who da h3ll will take a chance to get the pulley-sparkplugs-suspension?
If I can pull these parts, why not take the supercharger, interior parts too or the whole car.
These are time consuming procedures. Takes 2 to 3 thieves to disassemble a suspension in limited
chaotic time. Also why did you leave an expensive mountain bike?
Oh! don't bother trolling at ebay and craiglist,
The person who took it or "plan to upgrade it", owned MCS.

Man, that sucks big time. Had my 3 pc rolling tool cabinet stolen 3 years ago. Took a big hit on that one. Insurance wanted all receipts before settling claim. Don't know about you, but I didn't keep old receipts - but I do now.

Not fer nuttin, but I take pictures of each of the drawers of my toolboxes, that way I have proof of what was in there.....it's not as good as having all the rects, but many of my tools I've had for over 40 years - they're still like new and completely serviceable, but it does get "interesting" trying to explain that to an insurance adjuster.

To the OP, I'm sorry for your loss and I hope you were insured, but I'd plan on getting new stuff - and after all, it is just stuff. You can get more....

The parts were stolen off the car (car wasn't in garage at time as I was driving it). The stole parts yet to be installed that were in various areas of the garage. To get to them they by-passed other boxes and items (skateboards, roller blades, ski's, books, etc). However, given that the crime occurred between 530pm and 10pm in area that still has a decent amount of traffic during that time, it was a very planned crime and the original intent may have been to steal the car as well.

in my post #16 meant to say that parts WEREN'T stolen off the car...and that THEY stole parts yet to be installed...

to gray raven - no one except my wife and elementary age kids have been in the garage. but, we have a newer set of neighbors and their garage which doesn't have a security screen wasn't touched, even though their door, like my other neighbor also without a security screen, could easily have been kicked in. may just be nothing, but oddly suspicious.

i'm just hoping the random mystery car that was lurking in parking lot the night of the burglary makes another appearance in our neighborhood cuz this time i won't let it get away.

thats pretty low. Ill keep an eye out on craigslist.

I never trust the security of my garage for expensive items. Always keep them in my house along with a 12-gauge.

Damn, you had that many parts sitting around. So what r u gonna do to protect ur garage and belongings this time around? Sorry that happened man, definately keep an eye out on craigslist and ebay cuz thats the only place they could sell something like that. What can u do if u do see them posting things on craigslist, pretend to buy meet up and shoot em?

yup - unfortunately purchased last january (the springs were a super deal found in the marketplace forum here on NAM), but then just never time to get down to minicorsa to have the stuff installed.

oh, they are ways to catch people. the interesting thing about crime is that someone eventually makes a mistake.

Man i hate hearing this. I must say though, these stories are a lot more scarce on the mini forums than the integra forums, which is part of the reason i switched (my integra was stolen and messed with alot). just stay extra alert, especially when your cars in the garage... they may be back to see what they can take off the car. its very scarey that they actually went into the garage... most thefts happen to people without garages.
