I leased my new MCS09 for 3 years.
Ive had it for 4 months. Done a couple mods on it and want to do more, but was thinking once my lease is over, i might want the Coupe so i wouldnt do alot to it then??
what does everyone think about the Coupe??
are you going to trade your old MINI for it?

I like the coupe, I very well may trade mine if for one, but I can't ever stop modding my cars, so that's my predicament.

The soon to be mrs has an R57, and we both love the roadster, so we may just get that instead for her. Doubt I'd get a coupe and roadster at the same time, so that's another issue.

My lease is up in 2011. I will not be getting a Coupe, I love the idea of this car but I'm not sold on the execution. The roof line just looks wrong on that car. I might consider a Roadster depending on how the final production version looks... or I might just get a 135i instead.

Put me in this passenger seat and I'd be a happy camper.

Nope .. still don't like the weird roofline. The Countryman on the other hand.. tempting, but i'm waiting to see what the production model looks like.

Had a good up-close look at the coupe and roadster at the L.A. Auto Show.
I wonder if the radically styled roof on the coupe will make it to production as it looks on the show car.
It's really "different," but then that's kind of the whole MINI concept.
For me...I need that back seat for my dog. He digs the MCS.

no... doesn't make sense to mod a leased car.

the only "mods" I have are the JCW kit, which I had that installed before I took delivery, and a set of side scuttles.

I don't mind the Speedster, but the Coupe is just too weird for me. It looks like they took the Audi TT and squished it down even more. And since the TT looks (vaguely) like a New Beetle, it gets funny awfully quickly.

Nah. I barely have enough room in my MCS for all the crap I gotta lug around as it is. I might have to take one for a test drive, though ... same power but lower and lighter, those things oughtta be a scream.

NO I think they are un Mini like. They miss the essence of a Mini. Probably no good for the either as I imagine that it will have a micro boot. No good for shopping. Those Prada bags are pretty big and you wouldn't want to squash them!

The "beachcomer" thing should not me marketed as a Mini either as it looks too offroadish, needs to be lowered to look like a Mini Moke.

The coupe does look nice but I like the versatility of the HT... so I will be keeping mine.

No, I don't like the roof line looks, if they come up with a more integrated look for production I might be tempted. No go on the Roadster either. Not big on ''open motoring'' anymore.

"MINI Coupe Comes Out"? Uh, many of us already drive, or have driven, Coupes since the MINI first came to the US in 2002. At least that's what my dealer, my insurance agent, and many others, including myself, call the R50, R53 and R56 four-seat three-door hatchbacks.

And... after all... that is, and always has been, the name of this (and the 1st gen equiv) forum: "Coupe Talk"

Since it is a two-seater, couldnt they give this thing another name, like "roadster" or "TT-poser"

I really like the coupe, but I suspect the headroom will not be sufficient for taller drivers such as myself.

But there in lies your problem. You can't go too far off road with 2" ground clearance.

I say put a 6" lift on it with 33" tires and I'll be ready for the MUDD !!!!

I would like one just because I need the boot space and this doesn't mess around pretending it has rear seats, so the boot should be huge by comparison with the standard cabrio I have.

I will consider it, but I plan on keeping my current MINI for ~4+ more years.
