I tend to keep my cars a long time. Last car (still have) is 20 years old. Probably wont change it unitl a hydrogen version is available. If I were buying today, I'd be very tempted by the Coupe. Already ripped the rear seat out of my R56.
I think the Mini Hatchback is a perfect design. It looks great, It has rear seats, grocery space, Seats fold down for more space if needed. You can just fold one seat if you have three people or your dog with you. Easy to get in and out of. Nice seat height. Hatch back works great. I can't find a thing I do not like about my 2009 JCW. It is a great car.
thanks alot for your opinions, im thinking of just keeping my MCS too cause i LOVE her alot and i also think the new MINIs ruin the actual look of how MINIs are suppose to look like
My MCS is my everyday drive and i need the space and the ability to take it to Vermont to ski. I don't think either new vehicle will be very good at that.
I was thinking alot about which mods to do first and I've come to the conclusion that I'll probably just stick to the way my car is currently set up and not sink any more money into it. I guess I could have optioned it out better and it would simply be too much money to get it to be the way I want it, so I may as well use it till the warranty is nearly up and get another car (2 years).
Right now I'm thinking 335i, STi, MINI Coupe, Next MINI hatch, FT-86... A lot of options potentially in 2012!
Probably not, but I'd be more inclined to look at this than I would be the Beachcomber concept. 46K miles on my 2007, and I hope to get another 50K out of it at least.
I don't get why everyone is against any MINI that doesn't "look" like a MINI. Newsflash- many said the same thing when the 2002 debuted, that it could never replace the classic Mini, and even more so with the R56. So whats wrong with MINI offering consumers more body styles and choices while still staying true to its philosophy of compact, efficient, fun, and great handling cars? I think the coupe and roadster are great additions. If they drive anything like the current MINIs and possibly weigh even less, then its going to be a true performer. If you like the hatchback style better, then say so. Don't hate it because its not a "true" Mini, because ours isn't either.
No way Jose - I like the idea of a coupe but this execution - roof - is UGLY with a capital U.
Agreed... that roofline just doesn't cut it for me. I like it some times, then I see another angle, then I don't. It's like it had 2 windshields. They should've colored in the B-pillar or something. I'd just like to see how it effects the aerodynamics, once more the fuel economy, and even a top speed.

Nothing, as long as it's done well - this coupe isn't, based on the number of people in the "no way Jose" column........which is where you can put me too. I have owned Classic Coopers, I still own an '03 MCS JCW and an '09 Clubman S, so I think you could say I firmly and willingly drink the coolaid. The coupe is not well done, IMHO.
I would never trade in my mini for the coup.. they're two totally different styles imo... if anything i'd keep my mini and buy another car, im goin for the beach comber... haha
