I have the non hifi system in my 2008 s please help me figure out what i need. Ive been reading posts and am now more confused. Im willing to spend around 750. I have a rockford 1200 watt amp and 2 L7s from my old car. Please tell me what speakers i should get for the doors and if i need amp for just those speakers and which one ios recommended. I have a trustworthy audio guy who has worked on some minis is their anything he should be aware of with the new minis. I also plan on keeping the stock radio unit. Help Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

 

Your audio guy can get signal from the X9331 connector (search for threads about it), but the signal will already be processed in the head unit. So, you might want a CleanSweep, or something similar.

I think you would want an amp with the standard audio.

Personal taste has a lot to do with speaker choice. I like the Image Dynamics setup I have, but you would have to double your budget.

As for speakers there a many choices and again as Robin said therecan be a very different choice for everyone. RObin should know from what i remember he has gone thru at least one other brand before his final set of Image Dynamics. Your best bet is to find a shop with a bunch of i=different brands and listen to them all with some of your own music.

If your Trustworth guy has worked on MINI's before see if he can get you a listening test in one or more of them. Many MININ owners are fanatics and would be glad to have you listen to their system to assist you in making your decision.
