R50/53 How do you sell a really nice used Mini?
You should set up an ad in the market place. Anyone looking through there would have a good appreciation of it.
I've had good luck with both autotrader.com and cars.com. They each have a one-price runs-til-it-sells ad deal available. I'd recommend the one which lets you upload pictures because pix really help sell the car. You can also change your pictures and sales pitch whenever you want. Be sure to include lots of key words in the text which will help shoppers find your car when they do a search...
Good and plentiful photos would be a good start. Make sure and take detail shots of the interior (usual wear spots) to show the immaculate condition. If you can photograph the options (toggle switches, moonroof, xenons, etc...) this will be helpful for those scanning 100's of ads. Oh, and wash the car beforehand. I just bought a used mini, and I couldn't believe the horrible photos out there. Some made you wonder if they even wanted to sell the car.

We have 2 Minis (04 S's). We usually drive my wife's. Only driven in nice weather as well. As a result, it only has 11,000 miles and is in showroom (or better) condition. But it is a garage queen so we have decided to sell it....it is a Chili red S wth white stripes with custom white wheels, 6 speed, heated seats etc. looking to get about $15k for it.

I would start with something like the above.
i bought my 05 last year and the owner also only had 11k on the car. i actually paid 20k for it fully loaded might wanna consider starting at a higher price point and working your way down as human nature is to low ball :D
George,
I see you have place the ad in the NAM marketplace. Good start but it would be better to edit the ad and include the options in the description. I have my uncles car for sale in the marketplace also and I just surfed the existing ads until I found one that had pretty much all the available options. I cut and paste those options into the ad I was placing and just deleted the options my Uncle's car didnt have.
Just a suggestion as I think people would love to see what options are on a car and you want to make it as easy for the consumer as possible.

I guess the main question is also how much your looking to sell it for? I'd imagine a used 2004 MCS in superb condition with low mileage vs a 2004 used regular condition with around 60k to 70k miles would be a couple thousand dollars difference in sales price. At this point, the car is almost 6 years old, and warranty plays a good role in selling the MINI too.
George,
I just took a look at your ad in the Marketplace section. A couple of suggestions; do with them as you wish:
Take and post more pictures
Tell us how it is equipped. Sport? Premium? Cold Weather? Leather? Navigation? Harman/Kardon? People who are very knowledgeable about MINIs will be able to tell a lot of this from the pictures, if there were more pictures. Others won't be able to tell unless you put it in the ad.
Tell us about the service history. The car is 6 years old with only 11,000 miles on it. How often have you changed the oil or done other services?
The car has aftermarket wheels. Do you have the originals? Will they be included in the sale?
