MINI Car Club of Indiana is looking at having a Mod Party with Way Motor Works on Suday January 31st in the Indianapolis area if there is enough interest.

Thing is, it's tough to get a mod party together in that short of time--not impossible, but it'll be a little tougher, unless you have a number of people already ready to go. The weather comes into play in January, for me, it's too much of a risk.

If you guys consider doing something in the spring, I'd definitely be up for it (and I think you'd attract more midwesterners)--although I have to talk with Way sometime soon to figure out if it's feasible to get done what I want to do at a tune party, may be too much work to coordinate for that--might have to do my car separately from that anyway.

But if you're already set for that date, good luck, and be sure to post results!

 

We have had this posted on our club web site for serveral weeks and have several people interested, but thought we could open it up to others if they were interested. We did one last year at about the same time and had a full day of Mods.

 

I'm a new owner and I would like to particpate. Would like a pulley and CAI and maybe a big intercooler. I don't know much about cars but I love me MINI

I'm hoping to get in on this--it's a hike for me, but if the dates are right, I'll make it. If it falls on the weekends (I can do a Monday too) of May 15 or 22nd, I'm there. Might be able to make a different weekend, but I'd have to switch some things around on my schedule, which may or may not be possible...

 

I'm in Chicago (not really active with any MINI clubs) but I'd like to see about having some things done by Way in the near future, so I may be interested in this as well.

May 15th (that whole weekend, actually) would work PERFECTLY for me. I've gotta call Way, though, as I'm afraid some of my work might take longer than one day.

Just to be specific for the benefit of everyone, my major request is an oil pan replacement with one of their baffled units. My current pan had had its drain bolt over-tightened by the previous owner, so I had to use an oversized cutting bolt to seal it last time I changed my oil, but alas the time to change the oil has returned. Plus, when the car was at a dealership, they suggested I fix my leaky oil pan gasket, so I figured I'd take care of all of this properly with a baffled pan installation. However, I'm also pricing up to determine the feasibility of some other items I would LOVE to get on the car...

I pm'd, haven't heard anything back. If it's still happening, last weekend of May is the only thing I have open (unless it's a Sunday/Monday type of thing). I could do June, but after that, I doubt my schedule will be open for something like this until November.

There MAY (It sounds like it's still a little iffy) be another tune party in the midwest in the Chicago area (different tuner though), but I'm holding off on that until I hear definitively on this one in Indy. Way apparently has been wanting to work with different head/cam combos, so it's probably worth the wait until he's done testing (if he's got the time to pull that one off). I heard of some interesting results at a tune party specifically with regard to this (I'm not going to throw out what those results were; it was a private conversation and cam discussions generate wars (and warnings) around these parts, but suffice it to say that if someone is putting in the time to test these on the dyno, it's probably worth waiting for the recommendations that come out of that.
