I know this has been brought up already, but I received my Motoring Kit in the mail yesterday and I just wanted to reiterate the fact that it is too cool. It just goes to show you how far this company will go to make sure their customers are satisfied!

Cheers!

What is the motoring kit? What's in it and when did they send it? After your car was delivered? Details!

Here in México City we have to pay extra at the BMW/Mini dealer for the Motoring Kit.

They send it about 6 weeks or so after your Mini is delivered.....

It has a messages that you can flash to other motorers (with a pad to write your own), a highway bingo game, my personal fave, the motoring journal (in which I am writing all the meets and road trips my Mini and I go on) and a couple of other little things.....it's really cute. I knew about it before it came, but it was still such a nice surprise to get it in the mail. My boyfriend was all mad.....saying "Volkswagon doesn't send out stuff like that!".....

We got our MINI a little bit over 2 weeks ago, so probably I won't get the "Motoring Kit" for another month or so. I am really looking forward to it!.

Ooh! Now I'm excited! I've had my MINI for about 5 weeks so it should be coming soon. My dealer told me he also just mailed out my custom MINI t-shirt with my car's production number so it looks like I will be waiting by my mailbox!!

The t-shirt is a great idea! Do you know if this was just something your dealer did for you or is it standard procedure for new MINI owners?

I've had Ringo just one month today so don't know about the Motoring Kit. If the delay is just 6 weeks after delivery, I'm due soon. What a cool idea!

Also,
I just spoke with MINI's "Customer Experience Specialist" in New Jersery. He confirms that "every new MINI owner will receive a welcome (motoring) kit". The timing is about 6 weeks after the dealer communicates to MINI USA that the car has been sold.

Woo Hoo!

I got mine about 7 weeks after delivery. I was not expecting it, so it was a very pleasant surprise. Cool stuff.

WOW! I got mine yesterday also, but it was a total surprize. I had to work late, didn't get home until about 10pm, but my entire family was waiting patiently (NOT) for me to go through the door. They wouldn't let me sit down or even get a glass of water, they were dying to know what was in the box! What a great surprize! I brought the really cool pen to work today and showed everyone how Tabby travels from Hollywood to New York and funny, they all looked at me with these strange looks and backed away

They told me, that it is extra, because, the Motoring Kit is only free for USA and Canada.

Remember that México is like a Jungle.

I got my motoring kit yesterday!! It is sooooo cool! Just another example of why I love MINI!

Kensmini: The t-shirt is through MINI but it is each dealer's responsibility to distruibute. Apparently not all dealers have them (only select dealers) and they are only for the first 300 MINIs sold at each dealership. I would give your dealer a call!

Got my motoring kit today. Pretty cool. My t-shirt was sitting on the passenger seat when I picked my MCS up at the shipping terminal. #186 from Peter Brass at Hartford CT.

Okay Groovy Guys & Gals,
Here's the detailed report on the Welcome Kit that arrived today.

I was told by the guy at the Customer Experience office in New Jersey to expect this about six weeks after delivery. This, as with everything else in my MINI adventure, happened before it was promised. This arrived in just 5 weeks. Great!

The 8.25"x9"x2.25" black cardboard box is trimmed in red and gray. There's a Cooper outline logo on the box with the words, "Welcome to the Neighborhood".

Inside, wrapped in Chili Red tissue paper and tied with a Cosmos Black "Let's Motor" rubber band are the following:

No personalized shirt, which I've learned is given by only some dealers to their first 300 lucky buyers. But, I ain't complaining. This junk is cool. Just like the Cooper.

    Happy Motoring...
