For me its always the same thing...what kind of gas mileage do you get?
I always say..i have no idea i didn't buy it for the mileage. And i just shake my head on the inside. Its like they think its a Yugo or something and the only reason i bought it because it gets 85 mpg.

I am a big guy and 6'2". People always ask if I fit in the car and that is usually after the see me exiting the car. Why the heck would I buy a MINI or any car for that matter if I did not fit into it???
It's always the price question for me. 'How much did you get this for?'
Followed by 'I heard they were fast!'
Makes me smile for the most part.

Like El Nino first question is price, if I let them guess it varies between 14K and 30K. Generally speed also comes into it, and also how do I fit in it? If they look closer they also wonder about the speedometer size and want to know why it's that big.
I get asked the usual questions like posted above but another I hear quite often now: "Is that its real name?" They are looking at the "Mini" on the hood emblem.
One thing I find interesting is that people have definite opinions about the vehicle - they either like it or they don't - and they are pretty vocal about it! Last week I was visiting a car museum where they had some very expensive cars on display. When I left, a group of people were stand around my Mini in the parking lot and discussing it as well as taking pictures. Kinda made me chuckle!

I don't get asked "What kind of car is that?" I always get asked "Who makes the MINI?" I tell them, MINI makes the Cooper...it just confuses them more
Also, "What inflates when you pull that?" (tow hook) I give different answers depending on my mood.

In the land where everyone drives american cars (corvettes, camaros and firebirds), the first question someone generally asks here is "how much horsepower does that little thing have?"
How do you like it?
The first question I ever get is: How do you like your Mini? Then I usually get a statement like. My friend,ETC. has one and loves it. Then I get :"Arn't they made by BMW now"? When buying gas at Sam's club I always get the:"Wanna Trade Cars?" from someone driving a huge SUV. I have never got a negitive remark from anyone. Most everybody knows what a Mini Cooper is around my area. I have been asked where the Mini dealer is located. It is about 45/50 miles from Daytona where I live. More then once I came out of Target store or Walmart and had someone standing next to my car waiting for me to ask about the quality, dealer, gas consumption ETC. I'm always happy to talk about my Mini.
I hope everone is not snotty to people like miniSQ. I think it is nice that people are concerned about gas milage and are interested in the Mini Cooper.

or ...
Tell them that a bigger speedometer is required because the car is so fast.
Either one should cause their brain to hurt ... just a little
