Best approach is to shop the wheel vendors such as:
tirerack.com
outmotoring.com
edgeracing.com
Rspeed.com
webbmotorsports.com
and many more

and check out this longtime thread on wheels

Minihune,
I've looked at that thread but most of the minis are different colors than electric blue. Wheels that look good with dark silver might not look good with EB, that's why I hoped for some EB/W examples.

sanddan,

I've got an EB/W and am also looking at new wheels. I want white wheels (currently have 16" white V-spokes with RFs), and I want very light and strong wheels. The 16" v-spokes weigh 17.6 lbs. Stock offset is 48mm, minimum is 37. 4x100 bolt pattern, hubcentric with 56.1mm center bore, which will require centering rings for most rims.

I am considering these (all of these are 6-spoke rims available in white):

1) 16" budget solution: White Monza NZO 16x6.5 with Falken Azenis 215/45. The NZO rims weigh 14.3 lbs. The package is available from Randy Webb for $1090 for a white set with the rubber.

2) White Rays Volk Racing TE-37 rims 16x7" (they do have 16x7.5" but not in the 4x100 bolt pattern), 42mm offset. These rims are forged, ultra-strong and weigh only 11.2 lbs. Would probably also get these with the same Falken rubber. The TE-37s though are very hard to get, and very, very pricey (depending on where you can get them, close to $450-500 per rim).

3) White Centerline RPM rims 17x7" (not available in 16&quot, they are also forged and super-strong, and weigh only 13 lbs, a very low weight for a 17" rim! 42mm offset. Can be found for $290 each (pricey, but less than the Volks, Randy sells them at $315 each). These I would get with Yoko AVS or Parada rubber.

Also a possibility would be the Kosei K-1 Racing 16x7.5, available in white, offset 43mm, 15.5 lbs, around $160 each rim. These are not forged though. Also available as 17x7.5 at 16.7 lbs.

Right now I am tending towards the centerline rims, if I can dig up the money.

Hope this helps, and let us know what you will get (with pics!!).

Cheers,
Markus

if you're paying this much for a 16inch te-37 you're not looking hard enough! I bought my 17 inch used ones for $1000 but when i was shopping for new ones, a set of 17 inch te-37s was 1500-1600 and a set of 16 inch ones were 1300-1400.

Go to the tire rack web page and check it out. It's a great site and you can put your MCS in and see for yourself

For an EB/W I think you would do rather well with:
White wheels (lots of examples of IB/W with white but it is the white mirrors and roof that plays off the white)
Silver- pretty standard
Chrome- if you like shiny things or if you chromed your mirror covers
Anthracite with silver or polished lip- Dark center with contrasting silver lip
Hamann can paint the rim centers of one of their wheels the EB. Expensive wheels though.

Dark Anthracite is too dark
Black is too dark

OK we need a budget to work with and some sort of preference for designs- how many spokes, do you want it light, what about a deep lip, etc?

Another place to get ideas is the MINI2.com gallery

This speaker box appears to be custom made.

He posted these pics on the server of bathabit.com in Phoenix so you might contact them-see:

minihune- is that EB with HT3's lowered? it looks good...doesn't look like
its lowered by useing an agressive offset fillsup the wheel well very nicely.
