Other than the boot power outlet and the switch that changes the tach LCD from outside temp to instant speed, there are NO changes between '03 and '04 MINI's.

Now, starting December 1st builds, the rear fog lights will be standard, and you can order the 3-spoke steering wheel as an option.

Where's the boot power outlet Ryan, I've never seen/looked for it. Hope you're enjoying MM2.

Let me add a few useless pieces of info.
-Grounding strap in the engine bay, on the passenger side, is changed.
-Pulley belt tensioner spring is changed. (different material, appears to have higher tension)
-MINI claims that A-pillars are stronger to prevent windshield cracking
-Two extra rubber bumpers to prevent boot hatch from rattling. It also does a very good job from prevent the boot hatch from closing.
-various wiring and programming changes
-seat back material is changed to reduce scratches
-a MINI-FINI cup holder is included

Some of these are running changes, and some late 03s may have some of these changes implemented.

One specific wiring change is the alarm for the '04s. Some of the sensors have changed which makes the current alarm kit incompatible with the '04 Mini. Currently, Mini has not provided the dealers with the prper kit yet for the '04s.

one thing I've noticed about my '04 versus my '03 - the way the car unlocks via the key fob is ANNOYING. It used to not flash the lights, and react immediately to the button presses. Now, it stupidly flashes the parking lamps twice, and seems to be dim-witted, having a delay after each press of the wings. Also, seems I have to press and hold the wings three times before the windows will roll down - GRRRR. The previous programming, you only had to press and hold once and the windows immediately started rolling down - much better! BAD MINI for changing the locking programming

Any idea if there's a kit for the boot power outlet for the '03 models? Would love to have one.

Thanks!

I’ve not looked at the boot of a 03, but if the socket is there, I would think it’s only the wiring to it that is not connected. Locate the socket in the boot then open the small side panel near it and feel for the wiring harness that should be there. I could be wrong, but I’m thinking all the wiring for it is there just not hooked up.
