Interior/Exterior speedo needle acting funny
speedo needle acting funny
I had my gauge faces change and everything was good untill the needle got stuck on the 70 mph...
I took the plastic cover off once and moved the needle back to 0. and everything was ok for an afternoon or so. then it stuck back up there.
Is there a way to reset everything, or how do I remove the needle and reinstall it right.
thanks!

Did you reset the gauges before putting the needle back on after you put the faces on? I had issues with mine when I put the needle on slightly off. I just pulled the needle, unplugged the gauge, plugged it back in and then set the needle. It usually makes sure is exactly where it needs to be. Works for all the needles.
i had somebody else change the faces. so I'm not sure if they did or not. How do I go about doing this now? how does the needle come off? just pull> ha
thanks

You have to pull off the needle to reposition it. Fortunately, you should be able to do it without removing the speedo unit (changing the dial does require completely removing the speedo, but for just the needle you won't have to).
First pull off the outer trim ring around the speedo. It just pops off but it's difficult to grip and may be firmly attached. You may need a blade or screwdriver to help pry it off.
Next remove the clear dome lens. It is held on by 5 clips around its perimeter. At each clip, press in towards the center. However, you can't just release one clip at a time because the rest of the clips still keep the lens attached. You can release a portion of the lens all at once by using both hands to press on least 3 clips simultaneously.
Once the lens is removed, the needle is completely exposed and accessible. The needle just pulls off and you might be able to do it with your fingers. It takes a fair amount of force (enough that you'll be afraid that you'll break it) and you might want to pry it up with a screwdriver. The needle's silver center cap might pop off in the process (you can pop it back on later). With the needle out, turn the ignition to position 1, then press the needle back in pointing at 0 mph.

MINICK, I explained right there on my previous post.
Has anyone ever have the gauges on the chrono pack try to got backwords when you just turn the key and sometimes the tac and speedo go completey blank. To fix this temperaly I have to take all the fuses out for the guages (like 5 or so) and they will try to go backwards then it wont do it again for awile. sometimes 2 years and sometimes a week. Also the blue 10 amp fuse I feel like is the main one that is causing it. When you push it in it does the backwards thing then when you pull it out and push it in really hard the problem goes away for awile. Anyone have any Ideas. I thought maybe a lose connection but never really explored it.
The trim ring is attached to the black background, and pulls off from it. The black background is part of the center dash trim which includes the painted part.

I can't understand your comments. What exactly are you trying to remove?
