Questions

I have often wondered but never inquired with the dealer as to why MINI has never had power seats.
The other question is why they don't offer darker tinting on the sunroof maybe as an option. I had to install limo tint on my '03 because the sun was too intense even with the screens pulled closed.

Power seats add weight, complexity and extra costs. I don't think you can find many (if any) cars in it class with power seats. The seats are some of the most adjustable and configurable manuals I've ever sat in.

If you add power seats then what's next? Power tilt/telescoping wheel?

Power seats were probably never added just to cut some cost. Remember, the MINI isn't wearing any BMW badges.

I hate power seats. They take way too long to adjust. With the MINI, lift a lever, move the seat where you want it. So simple.

What I missed most in MINI's Seat Adjustment was the lack of ability to raise and lower front and rear ends of seat individually (or 'Tilt' control).

With a T-40 Torx Wrench, you can loosen the front (or rear) seat rail bolts and place a 'spacer' to change the tilt angle of the seat.

I used two hard 'rubber' wine corks (as shims under rails, behind the Torx Bolts) to raise the front 1/2" and the factory bolts are plenty long enough to allow this.

This is a MINI, not a Jaguar.

Considering the HUGE number of money-adding options to the MINI, the lack of optional power seats does seem very odd to me!

exactly my point

This is what I miss, the ability to adjust the front and rear height separately.

OK, so it has low tire pressure warning, GPS, Bluetooth, Convenience remote, backup sensors, low brake pad sensors, heated washers & mirrors, do I need to add more?

The MINI is already quite over weight, but it still is light compared to most cars, so it seems to me adding power seats would add proportionately quite excessive weight. Anyone know how much heavier the average power seat is than the average non powered seat?

I wouldn't expect to find power seats in a MINI, it might be handy to have them so it can remember my seat position vs the wife's seat position. I can get very squashed if i forget to adjust the seat before I get in after she's been driving. Though I'll take mirrors which remember their position over seats to start off with.
