My first Mini :-)

I know there are probably several of these a day but i did want to take a moment and introduce my new Mini and thank this community for being so awesome. If it weren't for the information I was able to get from this site, (all by searching btw ) I may have not pulled the trigger on my first Mini purchase. Its only been about 700 miles but I couldn't be happier with my decision.

Picked up 2009 MCS Chilli Red with JCW Aero package for an amazing price!

Here's it is getting the first mod: Clear Bra

1. Full Hood
2. Headlight + Foglights
3. Mirrors
4. Full Bumper
5. Gas cap area
6. Top of rear bumper

If anybody in the Sacramento/East Bay Area wants this done, i've got an awesome guy for you!

Here's the car after the clear bra (in front of the M3 its replacing)

After its 2nd mod: 20% tint all the way around

Future plans:
1. Get it broken in so I can really "drive" it
2. Get it closer to the ground
3. Pick up some new wheels
4. Some type of Tune and exhaust

Once again, this forum has been extremely helpful and hopefully i'll be able to contribute to help out the community myself!

Thanks again everyone and Happy Motoring!

Soopastank,

Nice MINI! Were you there for the entire clear bra installation? How long did it take? The picture with the M3 makes your red color REALLY stand out!

I checked in from time to time. The install was actually in my garage. The installer did me a huge favor and came to my house last Sunday.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words

I can't tell from the pic, is the s2k GPW or Sebring? I have an 02 GPW and have been contemplating getting a MCS to compliment it and replace my daily driver. Nice Mini BTW. How does it compare to the s2k?

Yes its a GPW. I bought the Mini to be my "fun" daily driver I'm still working on breaking in the Mini, so I should be able to compare them soon. I'll tell you what though, I'm loving the 30+ MPG! (My S2K is Comptech SC).

Soopastank!!! You bum!!!
You got it from Concord huh?!

I was eyeing that exact MINI, and I was going to go in the weekend after you picked it up on Thursday to buy it!!!

No worries, I ended up ordering one the same weekend

Congratulations though! We'll have to meet up when mine comes in

If you are getting rid of your rims, let me know if you want someone to take them off your hands

Nice car! I came so close to getting the same color combo.

Now that you have a replacement for that scabby ///M3, just pack it up and send it to me for 'disposal'

Lol..Yup, picked it up from Concord. I was actually looking for a Midnight Black S but couldn't pass up the deal on this one.

Let me know when yours come in and we'll meet up. I'm in the process of picking out new wheels now, so if you're really interested in the wheels, there's a good chance they'll be for sale

the modding continues...

Ok, another item crossed off the list. Car is now closer to the ground Lowered on Eibach Prokits and aligned.

Before

After

1.2 inches sure looks a lot lower in person than it does in pics

Once the stocks struts/shocks start to go bad, i'll replace them with konis or sell the springs for coilovers. It only makes sense to get a little bit out of my stock struts/shocks before I yank them out for good.

Wheels and tires should be here very soon Put the stocks up for sale if anyones interested. Going to park it for now until the new wheels and tires come in.

Drove a S2000 for 4 years and loved every minute of it (what a trans). Traded and bought a SLK55 AMG. While I loved the power and features it never had the magic fun to drive feel factor of the S2000. In the residential land development business so I've had (having) a couple of lean years. My lease was up on my SLK55 Dec 08 so I've been suffering with my 02 Explorer. Was able to get a great deal on my used 08 <6000 mile MINI but was a little hesitant since I want a RWD roadster. Was pleasantly surprised that the MINI captures much of the fun to drive factor of the S2000 while supplying most of the features of my MB. Also love red and had I ordered my MINI (or had a choice) I would have gotten Chili. Great looking car and looks lean and mean with the tint and lowering. While I love the OEM wheels (I have the same) can't wait to see what you get.

30+ mpg

Truck gets about 17mpg and the S2000 gets 22mpg (both Supercharged). I figured i'd be practical and still have a car that's a blast to drive.

Welcome to NAM and congrats on your new MINI!!!

I love Eibachs! Had them on my G35 coupe, loved the even drop and they don't ride too bad for having stiffer spring rates.
