R56 2010 carrier questions
2010 carrier questions
ASK MINI states the car has been relaesed to the carrier. What exactly does this mean? Is it on the Boat headed this way or just sitting on the dock flirting with other Mini's? I hope Snoopy is having a good time either way.
How do you get the carrier info such as ship and arrival dates. Sorry, I am new to the long wait. I bought my last (07 MCS) while I was stationed in Germany. It took about 3 weeks total from order to delivery. So this long wait is brutal.
Any info would be great.
Thanks
John

At that point it is in the hands of the shipping company. There is a way to track it w/ the VIN at each of the carriers website (or there was 2 or 3 years ago when i custom ordered my 07 MCS)
Check out the 1s Gear forum. They should have the latest info on how to track your car.
In 2007 you could find out when your car was loaded on a ship, and what ship, through the Wallenius Wilhelmsen web site. Not sure whether that service is still available.
Once the ship sailed, if the captain reported his location frequently, you could track through sailwx.info. You could also watch it go through the Panama Canal at http://www.aislive.com/ with a two week free trial. They have a couple web cams of various parts of the canal.

I'll bet it's going to be the Tagus.
There is a W-W autocarrier ship docked at Southhampton called the Tagus that is scheduled to sail on 10/19/09. I'm betting that all of the "week 41" cars are going on this ship. Here is a link to see the ships 'alongside' right now. http://www.southamptonvts.co.uk/live/ship_alongside.asp

Once the cars are on the auto carrier ships they're home free...almost...

It turned out to be the Don Carlos
