bent rims

Anyone have any experience with getting bends out of rims. I've found some possible snow wheels, but one has a "ding" in it.

There is a company in Millersville Maryland that I have successfully used, but many years ago. WheelWorx or something like that.

There are lots of places that will repair a bent rim. The big this is cost. Sometime it's just better to get a wheel without a bend. Most local places to me charge a minimum of $80; more if it needs welding and painting. I'd suggest doing a (google) search or looking in the yellow pages for local wheel places or wheel repair. Asking for references or at least pictures of their work is a good idea too.

Not familiar with prices there but, a lot of times depending on how bad the bend is it would just be worth getting a new one. Some of the factors include what it is made out of, painted or powder coated, chrome, and the all important one is the bend itself.

Most bent rims can be fixed. I had one with a bend and crack and they welded and straightened it. I used it as a spare so there was no trouble, no leaks etc. Around the NE, the service costs about 100 or more if you weld.

Maybe the local Mini clubs will have an idea of where to go within your area.

I think I just bent one last night :(

Haven't gotten a good look at it yet.

I've got a set of 17's I'm selling and I was using them , with no problem. Two wheels are slightly bent and I just used them on the rear.

When I checked on this in San Jose, CA the minimum cost was $150 per wheel. The wheels I wanted to repair cost $169 each. So, I bought new ones.

If you are dealing with a $750 wheel for a Mercedes, it makes sense to have it fixed. For a MINI, not so much.

Look for Wheel-Fix-It. I believe it is a franchise that will fix bent rims. I used the local franchise and they did a great job. About $100.00 and the rim looks new.
