Brought home my 2010 Clubby today

I picked up my Midnight Black Clubman today. Unfortunately I had to go straight from the dealer to a client, but, got a play a little afterward. I played to the tune of about 150 miles :-) Sadly the day did not end on the best note. I already scraped my back passenger side rim :-( I'm been driving SUV's for the last 16 years and lets face it. The Mini takes a little getting used to!

On another note

I really want to give a shout out to my MA. Let me first preface this by telling you all I am an ex car dealer. I owned a Subaru franchise and I'm familiar with all the games and tricks dealers can play. Since selling my dealership I've always made a point to deal directly with a sales manager or owner by calling ahead a giving credentials (so to speak). It takes the annoyance of having to eat the salesperson for lunch before they realize they should turn me over to a manager :-)

I walked in to Hassel Mini in Freeport on a whim a few months ago. I picked the brain of a saleman there (Christopher Mayor). One thing led to another and today I brought home my new Clubby.

I cannot recommend this guy highly enough. I never went to his manager, he deserved whatever commision he got and probably more (I can be a real pain in the @$$)

If you are looking for a no bullsh*t deal he is your guy. I feel that anyone who goes above and beyond in whatever field they are in should be rewarded. Chris deserves that reward (if you're reading this your next slice of Pizza is on me:-)) Okay fine, I'll throw a burger down your throat.

All joking aside, if you're in the market for a Mini (or BMW) and you're within a million miles of Hassel Mini in Freeport NY call him. If he screws you I'll give you my address and you can come here and kick my @ss.

If Siskel and Ebert were here they'd

Pics of the car to follow (probably this weekend)

Congrats!

The scraping the rear wheel sucks, just about every car i've ever got, I almost always scraped that wheel (That's the #1 wheel that gets chewed up, because it's in your blind spot). Sucks...

I can hook you up with a tire/wheel warranty that covers curb rash too if you want...PM me if you want more info. It's better than what Hassel offers, I already went over it with the people I know over at the BMW store..

So far my schedule today is pretty light. I was hoping to stop by and meet you later and show you the car. We'll talk then. I need your address or phone.

Funny you should mention the black thing. I used to only have black cars. I finally gave up and haven't had one since 1991. I think I forgot what a royal pain it is when I ordered this one. I washed and waxed it in the morning, cleaned the dust off of it in the late morning, cleaned the dust off it again in the mid afternoon. I took it out of a spin around 4pm brought it home and now its ready for another bath! Good thing its going to rain tomorrow

On a good note, nothing looks better when its clean and waxed. Everyone checks out the car, probably because (1) its a Mini and (2) it's so damn purrrrrdy

I think we've all put curb rash on the wheels. The MINIs handle differently from anything else and take some getting used to.

Congrates on your clubby!

It's good you recommand your saleman. Let's say my salesman is not the brightest person in the dealership I went to. He promised me to give me two nice keychains I saw in parts. I think he wanted to make the sale so he said no problem. On top of that, he will agree to rubber mats in the car. Later I went back to pick the license plate. He denied everything......

Anyway, congrates again on your new clubby!

Ditto all that for Hot Chocolate. Longbeach- that black and silver is really a great look! Any shots of the inside? I wish you had some high res shots in your gallery. I collect the best looking Minis for my Apple TV slide shows. I'd love it if more of us uploaded big files into the garage. How 'bout it Longbeach? Your black and silver S would look great on the 52" screen!

Great Salesman

Hey LongBeachNY,

Congratulations on your new Clubman.

I purchased my 2009 Clubman back in Nov of '08 from Christopher Mayor at Hassel.
Very professional and answered any/all of my questions with no problems.
I would highly recommend Chris and the complete dealership of Hassel Mini of Freeport.
Very pleasant experience.

Congratulations! There's nothing like a brand spanking new shiny MINI of any sort!

A friend on here who bought his '08 MCC there also has had very good things to say about the dealership.
