so on my way home from work, on an obscure country road .. i pass a mini cooper s cabrio in dark silver

and i'm just a hard top but same - mcs in dark silver.. isn't that just neat!?

we've seen each other probably about 3x now in the space of a week and we've started waving :D

anyone else ever find themselves passing a glaringly similar mini on their commute?

 

I had a BRG/W MC, and one day I passed another BRG/W MC. Same years (02-04), same trim (Chrome line exterior), same rims (16" 5 spokes). It was wild.

 

I was so souped when I placed the order for my JCW - and one of the reasons was the uniqueness of the car. THE DAY I placed my order, I saw an identical JCW in the parking lot of my local grocery store: dark silver hardtop, 17" 16-spokes, black roof, all the way down to the redline interior.

No hard feelings, though, and I make a point to give him a wave every time we pass each other on the street.

 

I had the same expierence as the OP.

I have had "Butters" for a few years now. But recently, I see a LY Hardtop when I am taking my daughter to daycare.

The first time I saw him I waved...no responce So the next day I didn't wave at him. As we pass eachother on the thrid day, he waves

I guess it just took him a few days to get over his shyness. LOL

 

With my old 2005 MCS I thought I had a fairly unique color. I had hyper blue with a black top and black stripes. Maybe not totally unique, but for the small-ish town I live in and the very small town I went to school in I thought I'd be the only one.

Now, I had passed a blue/black HB MCS a few times driving to and from classes, but imagine my surprise when I saw that same car parked at my university! What are the odds when the total enrollment is only 6,000 students or so? I never met the owner but once I grabbed the parking spot right in front of it and took a picture with my phone.

Now I have a MCc, hyper blue. When I was shopping for cabrios I noticed most were red or cool blue. It seemed very few were hyper blue. So again I think I have a unique color but there is a hyper blue MCS cabrio I have seen a few times in my town! I haven't passed it on the road yet, but it is weird seeing one the same color as mine.
