Did a search but did not fin anything recent that would be relevant.

Would like to get your opinion on my car. I recent purchased a CPO late build 2007 Dark Silver MCS. The car has the OEM Bonnet stripes and I want to take them off. Since I don't know the prior owners history of exterior maintenance, would you assume that the paint under the stripes would be much different in color than the parts that were not covered? Assuming the prior owner did regular washes and since the car is Dark Silver, I would assume it wouldn't be as faded as say, red, right? Although I'm no expert, what do you guys/gals think?

 

One of my friends in Nashville said he took the stripes off of a six year old chili red and there was pretty much no fading. I've also heard - from what's probably the best body shop in our region - that the paint on the MINI's is frickin' awesome. On a two to three year old car, you should be good to go.

If there's fading, though, it should work itself out pretty quickly (we're talking months not hours).

 

Hmmm cause I have debated this myself. IMO if your MINI is the same color body and roof go for it but if it is white or black and the bonnet stripes match then don't. The car looks naked without them. The reason I didn't was because I have a whit roof and the car is LBM.
