Tire size for 16x7.5" ET35?

Just bought a set of wheels sight unseen for cheap, having been told that they were 16x7". Turns out they are 16x7.5" and I am concerned about clearance/rubbing issues. I have a 2005 model R50 (currently stock everything). What tire size should I be looking at to avoid to avoid rubbing? The wheels are ET35.

205/50/R16?
195/55/R16?
195/50/R16?

I like the rims and prefer not to sell them, but I'm sure I can recoup my cost if they will not fit the car. Also, I am hoping to use these for winter wheels so I would be looking for winter tires.

Please help!

There would be little difference between the 16x7.5" et 35 and the 16x7" et 40 rims with the 205/50/16 tire.

Take a look at this tire & rim calculator tool and experiment with the sizes.

Tire size for 16x7.5" ET35?

You can stick with the stock size, 195/55/16, and most likely do just fine as you are not lowered.
But, if your concerned, you can always drop down to 195/50/16 as it's about 3/4's of an inch shorter.

Your speedo will read about 2 mph slow with the 195 /50's versus the 195/55's.

Hope this helps...

Corrected size difference: 3/4's not 3/8's

Thanks for the help. I should add that my stock size is with 15" wheels so I currently have 175/65/R15 tires.

Update: Stopped in at a tire shop for some quotes today on the way home from work. The guy I was talking to seemed pretty uncertain about putting a 195 width tire on a 7.5" wheel because this tire width is usually approved only for 5.5" to 7" wheels.

Anybody have similar issues? I am not looking for the extreme stretch look but it seems as though a 195/50/16 should work without stretching too much? Anybody actually have this or a similar size tire on a 7.5" wide wheel?

Tire size on 16x7 et35

I running 205/45/16 on a 16x7 et35 SSR comp wheels. Car is lowered little over an inch around (Koni springs). No problems with rubbing, however the rears come close to the fenders.

Tire size for 16x7.5" ET35?

As a guide line, the Mini OEM wheels are 6.5 inches for 195 series tires and a 7.0 inches for 205's series tires.

The Tire Rack lists most 195's as approved for rims from 5.0 inches to 7.0 inches
and most 205's approved for rims from 5.5 inches to 7.5 inches.

The 205/50/16 is about 3/8 of an inch wider than the 195's but right between the 195/50's and 195/55's in height.

Your speedo will read 1 mph slow with 205/50's verses 195/55's.

Hope this helps...
