Need help asap installing pads on 09 JCW

Hey guys I got a set of carbontech XP 10 and XP 8 pads for my 2009 R56 JCW and im trying to install them in the calipers but it seems that the brake sensor will not fit one the pads.

Any ideas? Do I have to reinstall the sensor or can I zip tie it out of the way???

Did you ask for the sensor slot on the pads?

You push the sensor into the slot with the short wear side toward the rotor. You can also zip tie it on the side but you will need to check them regularly if you do that.

It will not throw an error. You have to make sure it is attached to a very secure place, and attach it in multiple locations.

Are you going to the track?? You don't want to use those pads on the street.

a) they won't last long

b) they'll squeel to death on the street.

If you are going to the track, I've always been told to tie the sensors back so they don't melt from the heat at the track.

If you're using them on the street, you had to tell carbotech to cut them out to use the sensors.

I run the same pads on mine when I'm at the track. When I'm on the street, I use carbotech's ceramic bobcats on the front so when I do go to the track, I can just swap pads without prepping the rotors.

You know you have to turn or replace the rotors before you switch over to ceramic pads, right?

You also know you have to "bed" them in before using them, right?

HTH's,

Mark

All of the above posts are right on the mark. The XP pads don't have the space in the pad, just the backing plate, for the sensor for all the above reasons.

Ordered them pre-bedded. And yes your right the squeak to death lol.

They where for track use only. I was testing out the car for the up coming Redline Time Attack this this next weekend.

Is it normal for them to turn white? they where red when I put them in lol.
