Apparently, my mini is unique......

I have an 08 "S" that accelerates like a rocket, gets 37.8 MPG on the highway, tracks the road like it's on rails, and has a more than serviceable sound system (I have the "Hi Fi"). In additon, I've had NO mechanical problems...at all... with the car, and have had terrific service at the Mini dealership I purchased the car from.

If I weren't a frequent visitor to this board, I would think I had a terrific car.

You got the Good 1 for "08.

I got the '07 issue. 42,000 miles and I still smile every time I push the start button.

Grats Peprwhte!

WOW you got a sweetheart of a car but then again it comes as no surprise cause it is a MINI.

Hope that your little one continues to bring you such joy!

Enjoy & Motor On!

You're not alone. It's just human nature to be quiet when you are ok with what's going on (vocal minority). The ones who have issues are the one's who speak up. I don't have exact numbers or data but I believe the number of MINIs with excessive problems is much lower than the number of "problem-free" MINIs.

I put "problem free" in quotes because no car is going to be problem free.

You are not alone! The reason you don't see posts like this is because the owners are too busy motoring with a huge grin

Agreed. And then there are people like me that do have a smal problem like the hood scop melting and don't make a big deal about it. There are people on this people on this poeple that have made way to big of a deal about the hood scoop melting. MINI/BMW knows about it and they will happily fix it. Now is somehting like my suspension went I might make a stink on the board but it wouldn't even be a big on. Things go wrong with cars. I'll bet if you go over to a Honda or VW forum you will see the same thing, lots of complaints about stupid little sh*t that goes wrong with those cars.

It's all gravy go drive and be very happy you drive a MINI

Wow!! 37 mpg. That's awesome! I can only get out about 31 but it's still an awesome car to drive and I'm glad I bought it.

No mis-fitted parts, no brake or engine problems, no problems with your wheels and tires, good gas mileage and well-functioning electronics? It appears to me you bought a non-British version of the MINI. It can't be an English-made car if it's functioning properly. I'm in the same boat - both of mine run and look perfect. As solid as a Toyota.

You do, I do and most of the people on this forum...

Unfortunately, very rarely do you see anyone start a thread, "my car was fun today" or "I got 34mpg".

You will however, (moi aussi) see someone post a "stupid dealer said they never heard of that problem...."

You have no idea how many times I've wanted to start a thread "how much I love my car".

hmmmmmm.

And I must have gotten the '09 good one. I get 32~33 all the time, and 36+ on the longer highway trips. No mechanical problems other than the clutch pedal making a popping sound sometimes.
