Interior mods-did I over do it? UPDATED

Given that my car is all PS, no stripes etc, I decided to spice up the interior. All of the red is new, including the seats! Right now I'm thinking I should have left the downtubes PS, or maybe not painted the speakers.......anyway check it out.....

UPDATE: Changed out downtubes to CF, and painted speakers black, but kept small red trim around them

It's a little over the top for my tastes, but it looks very good. Nice quality work.

IMO, it may be a tad overdone but not shocking or offensively so...

Of course it's totally overdone--congratulations. Go for it, I recon. It's certainly well within the spirit of the Mini. OK, it's within 3 standard deviations of the average spirit, but it's within a normal distribution. Great.

It's a one off.

I also have a pure silver MINI
and the interior is dark, this is a
great option.

I agree with you on these two points. PS downtubes and speakers would look good.

Typically I'm a more reserved sort, but truly I like what you've done. I appreciate you even doing the cargo cover! Not a cheap detail!
I like the red downtubes a lot really-don't change them!
Not a fan of the speaker grills, but it does need red in that area, so maybe just the speaker trim rings instead?
And the side air vents on either side of the dash need a red stripe too!
Great work and an excellent job of making your MINI, "yours".
Two Thumbs Up.

I really like the smooth leather job on the cargo cover.

You asked for opinions and I will be honest. It seems a little busy to me...

-I love the seats, center console, and especially the trunk cover thingy.
-I agree with orcadog and think the speaker rings (tweeter/door handle and mid-woofer) would look good red, with the grills being PS or black.
-You may not know this, but the downtubes and armrest rails (the PS pieces on your door that your red armrest covers are mounted to) were designed by the factory to look like a rollcage. Therefore, I am inclined to say the downtubes should be PS. Mine are all red like this...

-And I think the handles (doors and glovebox) are too much. I would have gone with PS or black.

I just want to be clear that although I would have done it a different way, it doesn't mean it's ugly or "overdone". I'm just offering up alternatives since you're skeptical about the outcome.

After looking at my interior in my previous post, I am considering spicing it up a bit. It just looks so bland after seeing yours...
