Interior/Exterior Interior mods-did I over do it?
I get what you're saying, but I don't want to steal Pureworks's thread...
Thanks for the feedback so far!! As usual, varied opinions, but all valuable. After two weeks, I'm leaning toward selling the red downtubes and speaker covers painted Mini PS & Red, and installing JCW CF downtubes to match my other JCW CF pieces......
The seats are a complete removal and re-do, not cheap, but I found a place local that was reasonable with great quality. The biggest hassle is that Mini "glues" the leather to the cushion??? Very time consuming process to remove. But once it's off, you can do whatever you want. As you can see I just did, small accent areas. The seats alone cost me about $400.....VERY cheap, about double of covers but worth it at that price. The cargo cover was $125.

My honest criticism:
It looks a little weird not having red bolsters on the seat-back, also could have done the center bolster (near your legs).
You also missed the passenger side vent (since you did the pair in the center).
I probably would have left out the downtubes, speaker grilles and handles.
If you wanna go over the top get some red window tint and wrap your headliner!

Just changed out the downtubes and painted the speakers..........
To do the seats, you have to remove the leather completely from the cushion. The problem is Mini glues the leather to the cushions so it's VERY time consuming.....once off, you can change out any panel you want. I chose to add only a couple of red accents, far less than the factory red/grey combo

my thoughts:
all armrests black. glove box handle black...maybe silver if you need to show it off.
other than that the red rings are pretty cool.
and while it would be a shocker..i could totally see all-red leather seats in there.

My objective opinion is that you showed attention to detail and executed your ideas nicely. My subjective opinion is that looks great! A little Ferrari influence in there. Nice job, and keep up the good work!
I gotta say its way too overdone. Plus the fact that you painted over the carbon fiber down tubes kinda makes me cringe.
eidt: Typical of me I didnt read the thread and just assumed the 2nd pic was the before pic. It looks alot better now. Carbon fiber over the red is MUCH better.
