MINI Body shop or others...

My uncle's MINI got in an accident recently and is going to need some fairly major repairs.

Should he go through a dealer's body shop or somewhere private?

Also, if you are located NORCAL.... do you have any recommended shops?

Dealers normally outsource to independant shops anyways. Does your MINI dealer have a bodyshop attached?

And even if they have a body shop, the best shop in town will be somewhere else. You do want the best shop in town, right?

Our BMW/MINI dealer uses the best body shop in town, but I'm sure it's not the case in ALL cities (unfortunately).

I've had good work done at Bay Bridge Motors in Oakland. They are very knowledgeable about both body and mechanical work on MINI.

MINI of Mountain View was very open about who they used for a body shop. They also highly recommended them. They use Autobahn Body & Paint. They did a great job on my MCS , but Silicon Valley is quite a distance from Sacramento.
