Other than Mini themselves, who else make hubcentric wheel for mini?
It is 56.1 bore, right?

I saw one of the Rota wheel (RB) is hubcentric.
I try to avoid using hubcentric rings.

 

I doubt many will make only 56.1 hub wheels.

The manufacturers make them with a big hub to cover all the wide range of possible hub sizes. Theres nothing wrong with a good set of wheels, with a good set of hub centric rings.

 

As you've noted Rota's, in some models, are hubcentric.
MiniLtes, mfg in the UK, are also hubcentric.

Other than those two I have no idea. But if there's others someone will add them to the list.

i really wouldnt let that influence your rim choice, unless you are doing some extreme racing or something..even then the rings prove to be just fine...

 

Check on the WheelFinder and search by Hubcentric. Not going to find a lot though. Using rings is not an issue as long as they fit properly. Try to get aluminum rings as opposed to the plastic. Not only do they last longer but if you track the car they won't get welded to the hub.

What size are those? What tire size? ANy clearnace issues?

 

They are 17/8 with a 215/45 BFG.KDW/2 tire and no rubbing issues . I am running about 1.5 inches lower than stock on M7 coilovers but I have no rear seats so of course I do not take any rear passengers. The offset is 42 and they also make a 18 inch version.

Much thanks. Checking out your WEB too. I have been into old British cars and know all the sources. These new ones take some research. I won't be happy until it handles better than my RSX with KW V1's slightly lowered and decambered. Set for bumpy rainy Maryland roads, not tracks. Stock the Mini is unstable in corners at 45 that I do smoothly at 55 in the RSX.

Note, I HATED the KDW's on the RSX. Went to 960 Pole Positions. Would you pick them again for the Mini?

 

For older MINIs using 12mm lug bolts

949racing 6UL rims will work with no centering ring. They are made for the Miata but will work.

I have 3 sets of wheels and tires which i use depending on the activity .

The Hamman / KDW 2 are my everyday set and give me good mileage as well as decent canyon performance . As little as it rains out here I can still say they were AMAZING in the wet as a Mistu EVO driver admitted when he could not keep up one rainy morning.

I recently put together a 3 piece wheel from the UK company called Super-Lite and have a set of 215/45 Falken RT - 615's mounted . These are my more serious canyon set and are unbelievable with regards to how well they stick. The tread wear is only 200 so I do not know how long they would last as a daily driver . They also claim to be good in the wet but I have no personal knowledge to back that up.

For track days I have a set of Ro-Ja lt-5's with 215 /40 Toyo Ra/1 which are more or less a standard for track minis and perform accordingly. I have used that set in the hills a few times and I really think the Falken's handle just as well.

Along these lines, the 16" Panasports meant for a Miata also fit without rings... Didn't even think about it when we bought them 5 years ago... and then when I was working on a friend's MINI and these "ring-things" fell out of the wheels, I was like "huh?"

 

My 17x7.5 OZ Forgiattas do not require rings. They are discontinued, but I expect other OZ wheels would be similar.
