Is this a bit over the top?

i put on some leds inside the hood scoop and it's connected to my lights under the dash, so they only lit up and off when i open/lock the car.
it's actually white leds, but somehow in this picture it looks blue
is this too ricey?

i dont think so, i think it'd definitely be over the top if they were on all the time... but just flashing with locking and unlocking isnt bad, i think it looks kinda cool...

this is what i thought too.. if it is on like ALL the time, it's totally ricey but it looks quite nice in person.. in daylight, no one can even see the lights.
in the dark however, since it's connected to the interior light, it fades in and out like interior light.. nice subtle white glow really..

thanks for the comments!

Nope, well within reason. Take a peak at some of ImagoX's lighting mods.

Before you start adding LEDs, you need to stop granny shiftin', and start double clutching like you should.

Umm, what? Modern clutches on passenger cars do not need to be double clutched.

Yes, that's too ricey IMO. Same with the underglow on that other car. Ugh.

"And what this is about....this is about Race Wars..'Cuz Dom, you know...I can't afford to lose again!!!!"

But yeah, the lighting in the scoop is fine, if you could find a way to make the lighting flow instead of seeing the individual LEDs. It would look better. And pay no attention to the "rice" comments. Do what ever makes you happy. I do what I want to my car as I'm the one making the payments on it.

And, yes, mostly everybody has seen these movies, whether they admit it or not!!!!

Hey have you guys seen The Fast and the Furious?
That movie is sick!
They got those kinda lights on that movie.
Too Fast to Furious was even sicker!
I have seen those mods (lights) at Auto Zone and Kragen....they are sweet! Especially if the lights go from left to right like Knight Rider, that would be a sweeter modification.
You gotta rent the "Too Fast" triology before you begin the mod proccess

I think I want to turn my car into British Rice.
Wondering if there is a bigger wing for the GP available? The Big Wing mod.
Then the LED light display mod I can pick up those mods at Auto Zone Racing or Kragen Motorsports or maybe the LA swap meet (the underground scene)
I am gonna have a Unique MINI, one of a kind, the only one like it. Thinking about Lambo doors on the whip too. What do you guy think? The only MINI with those mods in the country. My MINI's gonna be like "Hey, look at me, fellas"

Not the first person to do this. Mine are red, even more rice!

Only use it during photoshoots and AutoX. Police dont like red and blue lights on the front of your car. Dont listen to the naysayers, nearly everyone who has seen mine in person likes them, if anyone has issue I just point out that I also use them to light my engine bay when working on it in the dark.
