Whats next? Mod help, suggestions???

HI everyone,

I am a very proud/happy R56 MCS owner! The modding has begun!
So I am happy with the overall exterior look. Although wanting the Aero-Kit

So being performance minded without getting to much heat from Dealership I would like some suggestions and feedback.

Mods as followed
- Forge Intake
- 17x7 TD 1.2s with non-runflats
- H&R springs, rear sway bar, and short shifter kit.
- M7 strut tower defenders

So I have looked into the following:

- NM engine bushings or MINI Cooper S R56 Polyurethane Engine Bushings (any thoughts, which is better?? opinions??)
- M7 front strut bar (add-on to STDs)
- Catback? which one? not sure. either Alta stealth, or Riss racing?
- Racing Dynamics rear strut brace
- M7 heat shield
- Coilovers, not in a big hurry...
- FMIC??

So money is always a issue, but having such a great Mini forum/community I would like to hear what you think should be my next step? I would really appreciate it. Or if there is something I missed?

Here are some pics of her:

thanks everyone!

J

What do you want to do with the car? Perhaps autocross, track or just twisties?

In my opinion, for what I want to do with the car,
the best bang for performance is the IC,
the best bang for handling is the front camber plate since you already have the rear sway bar.

Well I am looking for a little more power and never can go wrong with even better handling I am a just a "Twistie guy" and maybe someday doing some track events in the near future.

I appreciate it! Do you think the dealer would have issues with a IC?

Here's what I went with:

Helix stepped FMIC

Riss Racing downpipe - You can get stainless or ceramic coated - catted or not

Riss Racing exhaust - with/without resonator - all polished stainless steel

Riss Racing Stage ll BOV

Group buy's going on now for Helix/Riss Racing:

DDM Works street intake and full-functioning ram air

M7 hood scoop (Mines NOT CF)

19mm rear sway bar
There's a bunch of good sway bars out there. Decide if you simply want quicker turn-in for street driving or will you be tracking/autoxing your car. Go with the biggest you'll need for the end application you want.
GT Spec front tower brace

If modding your Mini is a problem, just follow the old axiom;

"If it's a PROBLEM, just throw MONEY at it. The PROBLEM will go away!

celiborgy,

This is the link from the GT site:

Seems like that's about what I paid for it.

There is a carbon fiber strut bar available. I think Out Motoring has it. One person on NAM has it and claims it is stiffer than the aluminum bars. Also claims it pretty much eliminated his torque steer.

I have the JCW strut bar and it didn't help much with torque steer.

Have you considered a Whalen custom engraved stainless steel shift ****?
