Attempting to install freeflow air filter........

SO.......I've been removing alot of the junk under the bonnet the last few weeks, and my project was to get rid of the garbage of a restrictive air filter and put in one of the freeflows

The issue is that I have VERY little room, I've removed the bellhouse corner that attaches to the carb, but the remaining part of the carb de-icer is causing it to be too cramped in there.

So I tried taking it off, but nothign is able to line up, and the studs on the manifold are too long.

I ended up taking this thing off

I'm pretty sure that its part of the emissions stuff, it didnt have any hoses or anything connected to it?

Anyone else install one of these filters successfully?

did you try taking the elbow off the back of the carb that the original air filter should've been attached to?.....

nevermind, i think you did - you can always get new studs for the manifold

Agreed - if you remove that elbow on the back you should have enough room!
