Hi, my name is Christine and I've been wanting a mini cooper for about three years now. I have saved up about 10k and would like to buy a used mini cooper soon. I would love your opinion and suggestions about what year or what model should I get?

Right now.. I would just really love to get a red mini cooper with a white hardtop with white racing stripes. I would also love to get S because it has more horsepower and would love to get a manual. Can you please give some input because I really don't know much about cars but I have heard of a lot of complaints about the transmission and ect. So what year is the best.. and what model? regular or type S and whatever you would like to tell me. Thank you!!!!!!

 

Like this one....it's an 03 I think, saw it two weeks ago on lot for sale....

But in either model I would shoot for an 05 or 06 if you can swing it. MINI worked out most of the bugs and gremlins by then and there are some definate advantages with regards to transmission gearing and better supercharger if you go the S model in those same years.
